Hi everyone, I'm from Toronto and I'm going to the concert with my husband.
I was wondering if any of you were planning to have some pre-concert greet-the-boys event? Maybe someone knows when they're supposed to arrive in TO and where they're staying?
Also, I went to the release tour concert at Massey Hall in 2002 and heard the day after that there was some kind of backstage event for those fans who were patient enough to hang out at the stage exit... can anyone confirm that, or did I get that wrong? I would have course love to get a copy of my Fundamental album signed and/or exchange a few brief words with the boys.
Was there a tour programme being sold in Toronto for the Release concert?
Feel free to post any kind of Toronto-concert related stuff here or PM me!
And if anybody spies any (local) newspaper articles about the boys or their show, please go ahead and post the info

Hi there, I don't believe there was a "backstage event" I know there were like 100 of us fans waiting outside the exit for 2 hours and when it finally dwindled down to approx. 30-40 fans the "BOYS" came out and signed some autographs, but they moved fairly quickly to the van and drove off.
I did hear a rumour some fans managed to get "backstage" to meet and greet - not sure how they managed that.

Hi and thanks for posting
Yeah that's what I heard, but I assumed that the people waiting outside also got to go to the backstage meet-and-greet. Probably those folks had backstage passes?
I am definitely waiting this time around.
My problem is that I would LOVE to bring a camera for afterwards, but I read that Hummingbird Centre has a strict no-camera policy, so I was wondering if I have to leave my camera at home? (I don't have a car to temporary store it in for the actual concert)

We got backstage because we knew someone (Paula where are you??) who knew someone at EMI Canada.
I was supposed to be at Montreal with Cly Cly (who is a pro at getting backstage but does not seem to believe it!). My Mom is sick, and so I cannot get to Montreal
So without Cly Cly, it is much harder. She's like a good luck charm. Anytime I am with her, we get backstage. She never thinks it is because of her, but it is!
Sylvia Mason James likes to smoke, bring cigarettes. Ha ha.
There will be a backstage thing at any Toronto show because EMI Canada's head office is in Toronto, and so there will always be a meet and greet in Toronto.
And a word of advice for anyone who does get backstage. They are mortals. Don't freak out, treat them like normal people and they will be glad to speak to you. If you freak out, they'll think you are there to kill them, something like that....
I'd bring a disposable camera if you are worried. I don't see anything on my online ticket which says no camera's. PSB usually do not care if you bring one. But if you are so worried, just get a disposable as you will kick yourself if you meet them and don't have one.

Hi Rorie, I just replied to your PM
The idea with the disposable camera is an excellent one! I will get myself one today.
I'm definitely not one of the freak-out-and scream type of fans...I think I am too shy for my own good, so I probably will be too quiet rather than too loud if I get to meet them.
Too bad that Cly Cly can't be in Toronto then! I have a feeling a good luck charm would not hurt... I walked around Hummingbird the other day and realized how many different exits that place has, plus there's some massive construction going on on the east side of it...
I am really excited

That reminds me, when they drove off, the drove one block east of Massey Hall to a club. It you were standing on that ever street Massey Hall is on, walked one block east, that is where they went.
Reason being is when I left, I saw them head south, then I saw them go east, and then back north again. They could have walked it in about 2 minutes, but they'g have never made it because of the mob.
If I get backstage, I will ask Neil it I can come out to the exit door and get you guys in. We will have to see if I can even get backstage. Not 100% certain.

Just came back from the show - it was absolutely fantastic!
Both Chris and Neil were so full of energy, and after a while (sometime around Minimal) the audience was on their feet and dancing - very much like at the Release show it was a "stand up sit down" kind of show... after the break (after Numb) EVERYBODY was standing and/or dancing though.
The tracklisting was pretty much same as in Montreal...
I will post more tomorrow...
No backstage event though, only for the core EMI employees.
About 20-30 fans lined up at the stage exit afterwards...unfortunately it started raining and it was quite windy. Saw a pizza delivery arrive...Sylvia peeked out after about 40 minutes, but immediately went back in.
After almost an hour, a security guard came towards us and told us to line up in one line if we wanted to get stuff signed! Absolutely no photos though.
So one after the other (one at a time), we walked up to Neil and Chris. Neil seemed a bit annoyed or tired, Chris (who did't wear his sunglasses) flashed a smile at me. They weren't very chatty...I said to Neil: "The show was amazing, thanks so much!", to which he replied "Thanks for coming" while signing my tour programme. When he passed it on to Chris I asked them if they could put my name in, so Neil told Chris to do so
Then it was my husband's turn, he got a Limited Edition Cardboard box of PopArt signed - Neil seemed surprised and took some time looking at it, wondering what it was. (I bought it in Switzerland, so I guess the packaging must be different).
When I looked at my watch, it was 11:25 and we had to head home.
@Rorie: It was so nice to meet you! I'll PM you my e-mail!
