Hearing Devices

I have just found a part of " Left to my own devices " that i have not heard before, after all this time. When Neil sings "say goodbye...If i try....Left to my own devices i probably would", there are female backing vocals repeating the same lines.
Don't know if it's all the digitally enhanced CD's that has made it stand out or if i haven't taken much notice but i've started to listen to this track more & more.
Might as well mention this as i'm on the subject of backing vocals, that when i listened to " The Truck driver & his mate " and that bit went dub dub dub dubdy dub ( cool impression, u know what i mean ) i always thought it was done by sound effects. Then i watched & heard Sylvia Mason James singing backing vocals to it at the Savoy (Somewhere). Just goes to show how powerful these backing vocals can be in the song.
Anyone know of any other distinctive Backing Vocals V Sound effects ?
