Just got back. Great setlist, even though most or all of it was using the album versions -- not too many tweaks this time, beyond seguing SAVE and Domino Dancing.

Audience, as elsewhere, was kind of subdued during the first half (which is actually longer than the other "half" -- about twice as long, it seemed). People moved a bit more after the interval, though not really as much as they should have. I was up in the nosebleed section and had a pretty good view of both the stage and the floor. Naturally there was less a festive mood up there, but everyone around me seemed to be enjoying it, even if they were inhibited.

(Down in the orchestra seating people did stand and / or dance for most of the show -- during the faster numbers of the first part and then just about all of the last part, except for "Numb" and HAD, for obvious reasons.)

"Flamboyant" was my personal favorite track of the night; not only does it hold up with the older material, it's actually one of their best songs from any era; absolutely classic. "Sodom" was also fanstastic. It ought to be a single, to hell with Parlophone and the prudes.

My disappointment of the night was that I couldn't get a program! The concessionaires were taking cash only, and the DAR Constitution Hall ATM was out of order. I darted out after the show and got cash at the nearest 7-11 I could find, but by the time I got back to the hall the doors were locked. If any good soul can pick up a program for me at one of the other shows, drop me a line.

I stood during HAD, could have touched Neil's shoe. Front row was AWESOME. Worth every penny.

got back home from DAR about a half an hour ago. it was AWESOME, just awesome!!

met Neil and Chris post-show. sooooooo glad I stayed. I told Neil I was a 'fairly new fan' and he said "oh we love new fans!" (his stock answer, I know )

and he said "you were all wonderful today. A very intelligent audience, I thought".

I loved Sylvia's turban/cowboy hat during Where the streets have no name and how she laid out on the couch during Home and Dry.

Some cracked out dude assaulted my friend at the bar and started to kiss him.

I ran into a friend I hadn't seen in a long time and asked him how he was, he told me that he had a kidney transplant from his best friend. Was so not the answer I was expecting.

I'm in love with Nathan Holliday, he is soooooo hot, I will have sex with him . I loved the Hary Potter glasses during Opportunities.

What a night.

I can't wait for Miami!!

man, I couldn't have been happier with my seats... according to the seating chart I was at the last row of the front section, but when I got there it turned out i was in the front row of the second section which meant I had a TON of space to dance... (so I apparently made something of a spectacle of myself) although I still managed to keep accidentally stepping on the toe of the guy to my right... felt kind of bad about that... last night's show more than made up for the NYC show though... I felt like, while people may not have been moving a lot, at least they were on their feet and cheering... they actually seemed like they were there for the show, as opposed to like 3/4 the crowd in NYC who felt like they would have been at Radio City Music Hall regardless of who was there, and could have cared less about PSB...

I do feel the sound could have been punchier last night, but that might have been where we were in relation to the speakers...

on another note: there was something amusing about seeing a kid, no older than ten, in the row in front of me standing on his seat... singing along to the sodom and gomorrah show...

I'm still in a trance, can't think straight. I had a hard time falling asleep last night. this was my very first PSB concert. man, I could sooooo get used to this!

anyway, I actually had a mishap (don't ask) and ended up going in late. went in during Rent so I missed quite a bit of the first half. was originally up in the balconies with the "greatest hits" section but I had had enough by the time intermission rolled around. there WERE people dancing in their seats up there, notably the guy in front of me, but mostly we were watching Carmen at the La Scala

anyway, went down, met and gabbed with Choliux during the intermission and tried to buy a TSAGS teeshirt but they only took cash and the machine was out of service so that was that. after that, I spent the rest of the time down in the Orchestra dancing.

EVERYBODY (except for the diehards in the balcony) was up by the time Always on my mind came on and stayed up. nobody sat down after that. TSAGS got a huge response, so did Always, West End girls, Flamboyant and every single track from intermission on.

later, we waited about 45 mins for Neil and Chris to come out. it was nippy but not bad. but a guy was smoking right behind me.

anyway, Chris wore a grey hat and I shook his hand and said hi. he was cute.

Neil was in HIGH and full form last night, both at the concert and outside. jovial, affable and just sooo nice. when he caught me staring up at him, he did a quick double take, grinned and patted me on my arm. my mouth must have been open.

Hehe, more seriously glad you had a great time!

I saw them in NYC and DC and I think the crowd was having more fun in DC, at least from where I was seating.

During the show Neil said something like "it's wonderful to be in such a posh venue"... the stage was significantly smaller than Radio City's and it actually helped the "CUBE" seem much bigger. In fact, the stage was so small that the huge golden hat over Neil's projection during "Where the Streets Have No Name" didn't come down.

I also thought Neil was having a lot of fun, and Chris seemed to smile more often than in NYC.

All in all, another great PSB night. Got to meet Gomorrah and see some old friends.
