My next single choice (if not released Down the Dumper)

Integral/Fugitive (radio edit)
Both are controversial.
Both would make good songs.
But neither are strong individually chart wise.
This way the radio air play would decide...take Where the streets have no name (I can't take my eyes off you)/How can you expect to be taken seriously??
And I'd like new mixes of both, so great for the fans!!!

I fully agree with you. I wrote this before. These two songs would make a perfect couple.

Double A-sides don't really achieve anything. 1 song is picked up on, and that is the "hit". Streets, for example.
It has to be Integral.

Yes, it's not good enough to be a single. And even if it were - you don't have to release
every good song you have as a single! Let it remain what it is: an album track, or even call it a "b-side" if you like. We know that Pet Shop Boys more often than not give us excellent b-side tracks. So what's wrong with another great b-side?
Am I the only one who thinks that "Fugitive" suffer from a monotonous bass line? The song could have been even better - yes, I do think the song is very good - if the bassline was more interesting. It's just a one-note bass "figure" all through the song. Boring...

Yeah...with a remix of 'After All' as a b-side to complete the CD off with a slower track.

They should release this Integral/Fugitive 4th single exclusively through the official site. Melanie C did it and it was quite a success, it sold every copy in a matter of days. And even the PSB released the Pete Burns collaboration this way, didn't they?

I don't like all downloads, but be easier to buy and more economical for singles.
Albums should have a shiny thing you can see rainbows in, but 12" and 7" are a waste of money IMHO (in that are only nice for collectors - but they still have production costs) and CDs are too ripable. Not good for PSB who now chart lower (abeit part down to silly release choices) and they need now to finance their pensions as opposed to us. DVD-singles are silly unless you do them all the time. DVD and Enhanced CD is a silly marketting idea.
I would rather have downloads as opposed to no Pet Shop Boys and it would mean more money for other projects such as marketting them better.
I think people will have to get used to the idea in time. Record shops will have a unit that downloads the singles each week and people go in, insert a coin and it burns a selection to CD. That is where it is going if they have any sense. It is so difficult to buy singles sometime that this is a sensible idea.
Then you have iTunes, Woolworths and 7-digital as the main online players that I would probably use if this happened.
The following does show TSAGS is a strong single contender.
I know some dislike it and I personally think Integral/Fugitive (edit) but this is one of my favourite tracks. But it makes a better b-side than an a-side. Integral and Fugitive I think might get noticed for their content and that's a good thing. They may get airplay.
