I think a poll in the official site, giving the opportunity of chosing the single to their fans would be a good idea. The most voted song of a new album could be the main single.
WE ARE THE ONES WHO ARE GOING TO BUY THEIR SINGLES, SO WE SHOULD DECIDE.
TSAGS or Integral would have been singles.

What's wrong with that?

Because they'd be putting out unmarketable mediocre stuff like TSAGS. A more definite anti-single I don't think I could pick out from Fundamental...

You have to put you mind in the dumb meetings these music execs go to.

I saw an email from EMI pre Fun's release that was suggesting they release Minimal/Numb as a double A side. So that Minimal would appease the hardcore fans and that numb would introuduce them to a new market.

As long as that thinking goes on in meetings.

It's quite clear marketing couldn't be arsed with Numb ( I still see ads on the walls of the underground for Mininal!) but haven't see one for Numb.

More to the point. DO you we know if the Boys have signed their new deal for Parlophone yet?

Take your pick.

Long history of the various fora indicates that most supposed 'fans' are fickle, moany sods, have particularly bad taste, and it is not their career.

All in all, not a good way to make a decision.

That would still be better than Numb.
Numb is going to be a single only played when in a real gloom; feel like chopping my arms off after a bad day at work or something.
What am I saying? In that case, probably be played a lot LOL.

Fundamental is great, but it only has two true singles on it. They've been done.

Yes, I think Parlophone has been a bit sloppy lately.
Mind you we don't get to see what goes on behind the scenes...
But marketting has been poor.

Doesn't the release of Concrete mean that they must have signed a new contract with Parlophone? Their old contract ran out in May, if memory serves.

It's all very well having the fan's choose the singles but a lot of people on here change their opinions depending on which way the wind blows. Imagine as well, if the fan's choose, who are they going to blame when their choices don't do very well (record company lack of promo, bad video, crap b sides...) When you can't please everyone you may as well please yourself.

ever remember turning on TV and there would be a documentary about say frank sinatra, they would cut to a black and white clip decades ago with all these teen girls swooning over his latest hit song and you looked at that and couldnt believe there was a time when that kind of music was popular with teens?

maybe I'm a cranky fan but I think its pointless talking about singles and hit songs for them now. they are frank sinatra in the 1980's.but sooner or later it becomes less about hit songs but just plain releasing quality CD's.

Why do people are always unsatisfied, it's just singles after all, not the end of the world
