So what´s the story with Y-3 / Adidas

As we know Chris is a big fan of Y-3 (seems to have replaced Stüssy as his standard uniform). In the "Dancing with the stars" performance Chris is in his Y-3 baseball cap, the dancers are wearing what seems to be standard Adidas pieces, but Sylvia is wearing a Yamamoto-esque creation with the Adidas stripes that I doubt is ready-to-wear Y-3. So possibly it´s been custom made - and that made me wonder if they might actually be sponsored by Adidas/Y-3/Yamamoto somehow. Has anyone heard anything about this? Or what do you think?

If they are sponsored though, Y-3 is a really cool sponsor! (But not as cool as when Helmut Lang created the stage clothes for the Duran Duran tour a couple of years ago...)

We noticed this last night and my friend said that he also wore it throughout the "a life in pop dvd"

I wanted to ask chris what Y-3 was and I did not get the chance last night, so I asked Pete Gleadall and Pete said it was " Yohji Yamamoto" a japanese designer that designs for Addidas.

i like Y3 but i dont like too much of it like Chris does. In a life in pop, he had a cap, jumper and trainers all Y3. Perhaps jeans too. Overkill!!! I feel wrong wearin a stussy cap and tshirt together!

I too wear a lot of Y-3, but as someone said - Chris is overdoing it...

What confused me was Sylvias dress - I mean if they had a costumedesigner do it for her - why would they include the adidas stripes unless they are sponsored in any way?

So the name of Chris's keyboard is taped over, but he is dressed pretty much head-to-toe in branded Y-3/Adidas? :shifty:

yes, but did you ask Pete why they taped over the name this time around? i've seen lots & lots of PSB footage over the years. the only time(and not everytime) they would ever tape over the name is when they were doing one song a lip sync style show, etc. normally they wouldn't care and leave it off.
