Love Songs

With Valentine's Day coming up, I've decided to put a compilation together of PSB love songs. What's really surprised me when I started is that they haven't done hardly any.

Love Come Quickly- Too upbeat.
Heart- Same.
To Face The Truth- That'a about denial so...nah.
E-mail- Great melody and tempo but the ZX Spectrum bleeps and squeeks don't help.
To Speak Is A Sin- Not really about love.
Rent- to sad and tragic to be a love song.
Nervously-maybe...
It Always Comes As A Surprise-yeah, this works. AT LAST!
If Love Were All- too 'Chicago Ba-Da-Bing'.
The Only One- yeah, this works too!
Jealousy-Negative! Not about love!

I can't think of any others. Maybe 'Later Tonight'.

So, for my grand PSB Love Songs album, I have..

The Only One
Nervously
It Always Comes As A Surprise and ...that's it.

Number 1 album to be sure.

hmmm, thats kinda true, but how about miracles or between two islands.never realized how unromantic their music is lyrically.

and theres something creepy about the music of "the only one'. I cant put my finger on it but it should sound beautiful but it doesnt.those ooo oooo ooo sounds weird also. one of those songs I feel the arrangement lets the song down.

Maybe there are not so many "positive" love songs because love is not as easy to deal with as one might think/wish. I like this unbalance. It's more real. Don't get me wrong, I like "Nervously" very much. "Surprise" is nice. "The Only One" sounds a bit corny to my ears.

Rent is not "sad and tragic" :grumble: 'tis soothing & romantic! (and quite sad, yes..) :(

How about the following:
Red letter day
Always
Footsteps
Home & Dry
Tonight is forever
Why don't we live together
It must be obvious
Liberation
I want a lover - maybe too risque rather than romantic, dunno
Always on my mind - might be a bit too dancey though....

the survivors
domino dancing (alternative version)

I sent the Home & Dry lyrics to a female the other day (she is out of country) and her first reaction was that "it is a sad song"?

I never thought of H & D as sad.
