Rufus at the Palladium - a bit O/T

I went to Rufus Wainwright's concert at the London Palladium last night where he recreated Judy Garland's 1961 Carnegie Hall Concert. Neil and Chris were both there (although I don't think Chris made it back for the second half, but I could be wrong).
It was a reasonably successful evening but a bit odd. The one question which the whole thing threw up was "why?". And if you're going to take on such a mammoth challenge, then at least look as if you mean it. He did appear a bit like a rabbit caught in headlights at times, and was almost apologetic for what he was doing. Although that did add to the charm somewhat. The most wonderful part of the evening was to hear those original 40 piece orchestrations played be a superb orchestra in the historial Palladium.
