Just got an email from HMV.co.jp saying that a DVD titled "Live in Mexico City 2006" is out on 23rd of May.

If you click on this link the listing on the HMV website says that it will be 2 discs!!! :D

The Somewhere Video / DVD was also released by Warner, the reason for which I think has been discussed before but completely escapes me now.

This is fabulous news. I hope we'll get it in North America around the same time.

You know, releasing a DVD just after a successful tour is really a good idea. I wonder why they never did it before?

WOW, the new DVD is near... The japanese version of hmv site says that the DVD will have 2 disks: maybe another live CD after Concrete?

Well, that would be quite "cheap" given that they annouced the tour DVD release (already scheduled for spring 2007 then) a couple of months ago, and that more recently they gave info about mixing it. It's about as "big news" as if they said in April 2006 that they will release Fundamental in May 2006.

thats Neil :D Typically
Exciting infos on the official page ALWAYS are exciting infos for the main crowd of the fans!!! It's okay, cause they have much fans around the world - not only us "highly news-connected people"...

and no - this wasn't meant ironically! If you sign here, you'll leave the ordinary PSB world! You have to realise, that you'll loose this fiction of getting PSB news every now and then, so you have the chance to be happy about it!

HERE you always will get news quicker but without warning and you'll always get the strange impression "...nothings will surprise you anymore..."

Well but the "problem" is, that the DVD news were posted on the offical site in November! :) It is not something that only fans here are supposed to be aware of, but any reader of the OS as well.

Quote from the OS:
"PSB show being filmed tonight
14 November 2006
Tonight Pet Shop Boys' show will be filmed in the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City for a DVD to be released in Spring 2007..."

So how the main crowd you mentioned should be excited by re-stating the obvious, when they got the message already? ;)

What intrigues me most, is the number of discs: 2

One would expect this concert to fit on one disc, just like Montage, Performance, et cetera. But apparently there's an extra disc. I really wonder what that means. Perhaps Pet Shop Boys did a 'Moby' ? - Moby released live concerts on DVD, with a second disc featuring remixes, demo's, unreleased songs, etc...

Maybe they could release something like Madonna's two disc concert and include the live dvd and a live cd.

It could be a documentary or behind-the-scenes footage or something like that.
