Sad to hear the news of World Cup 66 hero Alan Ball.
An extensive career in the beautiful game.

I had the opportunity to go to one of his talks. A really entertaining night. It's amazing what ex footballers tell you once they have packed it all in.

I was coached by him (and Bobby Moore) at a Pontins holiday camp around 1990 or something like that and I will never forget that at the end of the session we had a match and he was on the other side only for me to take him out with a really nasty late challenge! He was not too happy but accepted my oppologies of course. Great player and nice guy but never really made it big as a manager which was a shame.
