In my humble opinion, the 10 worst charity records ever of all-time are the following (in no particular order though, as they are all awful!):
BAND AID 20: Do They Know It's Christmas?,
ONE WORLD PROJECT: Grief Never Grows Old,
USA FOR AFRICA: We Are The World,
ELTON JOHN: Candle In The Wind 1997,
HALE AND PACE & THE STONKERS: The Stonk,
FERRY AID: Let It Be,
HILLSBOROUGH AID: Ferry 'Cross The Mersey,
CHER, NENEH CHERRY & CHRISSIE HYNDE: Love Can Build A Bridge,
ARTISTS AGAINST AIDS WORLDWIDE: What's Going On? &
VARIOUS ARTISTS: Perfect Day.
I've not heard Madonna's "Hey You" yet, but compared to the above list, "Absolutely Fabulous" by PSB is a work of genius!

It's hard to know all the Charity recrods in Italy (here it does not exist something similar) but he last single by SugababesvsGirls Aloud is really ugly, myabe the worst single by the Babes

VARIOUS ARTISTS: Perfect Day.
I like this one actually. Let it be - Ferry aid is another rather good one.
What was that track by Mel (???????) & Kim (Wilde) that was pretty bad as I recall.

OK, Absolutely fabulous was not PSB's greatest musical moment but neither was it that bad
Great euro pop riff which for the time was quite cool. Catchy chorus. And it certainly was a little bit funny which is a) better than trying to be funny and failing completely and b) just being serious and 'hand wringing' about a situation.
I think they tried and they did better than most. The fact that they didn't release it under their own name, and it doesn't appear on PopArt, suggests that they too know it was hardly a major artistic statement. It was just a bit of fun...

Absolutely fabulous still remains a total mystery to me. It was as though they were drawing a line under their consistent brilliance and admitting that they couldn't keep up the standard for ever so here's a dodgy 'comedy/charity' record. We'll disappoint you before you get disappointed.
It was also the harbinger of their showbiz years as they evolved from the effortlessly cool Discography epoch into a rather more hit-and-miss 'here's Elton, where's Neil?' cult of celebrity.
