Always on my mind is to be re released on 19th November. Could it be a contender for the Christmas number 1 spot as it did 20 years ago ?
Oh, i should have mentioned it is the version by the king himself.
Still, Always on my mind is a such a passionate song sung by whoever.
BMG have certainly got their heads screwed on when it comes to marketing.
Have you seen the Cd singles of Elvis' re released singles in the latest campaign, designed like the original vinyl editions. And we get 10" formats as well.

Elvis' version also reached #13 when first re-issued in May 1997

You should change the subject, it's misleading. As it's under "Pet Shop Boys Discussion", then I was thinking right away that this news was about THEIR version. What a disappointment! I'm not interested in anyone else's version of that song.

After to have read the subkect of the topic, I thought in a new PSB re-edition, not by Elvis.

I agree, I was TOTALLY misled by this title and have barely been able to concentrate on anything since. And besides, should it not read 'their' song, as opposed to 'that' song?! What business has Elvis got covering a PSB classic years after he is dead?

Mods, please move this to Off topic and change the subject so that it includes the word "Elvis". I don't want any more fans experiencing such a disappointment.

Show a bit more respect. If it wasn't for the King there would have been no "classic" to cover.
Yes i could have put this thread elsewhere but i thought the title would grab YOUR attention...& guess what it worked.
It's only a bit of fun, concentrate on that.

That final sentence is a classic!

I see no disrespect about anyone here. Frankly, anyone that posts a provocative message intended to mislead for 'a bit of fun' should expect a strong reaction back.

You're right Radiophonic, I have shown no disrespect at all, but I hate mistitled topics which let people think of something that is not true. If you were to write about this on an Elvis forum, it would be completely appropriate. But I don't want to be mislead when the thread is about my favourite PSB track. I don't want to get false hopes.
Everyone has their taste too, but for me the PSB version is the only one I care about. When it has the same melody and same lyrics as the other versions of the song, doesn't mean that I should put my emotions on them as well.

"I don't want to get false hopes."
I know, it would have been AMAZING if PSB had re-released always on my mind, just think...
