and it's NOT a PSB cover. Infact, it's quite a different track for us. Check it out and let us know what you think.

thats your best track yet. I liked it the second it started up with that mellow chord progression as it was,but then the drums kicked in and got even better.its smooth and tight as hell.

nice light spacey sounding strings layered in the background mix well with the electric piano stabs. I like that analog lead sound you used for that segment at 3:00. its one of those songs where all the sounds and textures used jibe well with the song framework.

lush's voice glides over it. he even sounds as much as neil as that other guy when he says "jealousy'. as usual I have to comment though I REALLY wish lush would doubletrack more ala neil, such as on that line "is it you,is it me".i know he built up jealousy but that sounds like pretty much all. just a small piont though.

I wish I wrote that song .seriously.I still pull out regrets everynow and then also.

you should make a video for jealousy though.

Great stuff, BlueSwan. :) Another subtle PSB reference in the lyrics, too...

Well spotted, YFU. Thanks all for the kind comments. Glenn, regarding the double tracking, I generally prefer to have my vocals double tracked, but what double tracking gives in depth it takes away in character, and in this song, I thought character was more important. But again, thanks for the constructive comments.

My thoughts, too. Just listened to Regrets, to compare these two latest songs. Both of them are good but there is an definitive improvement in the production in the latter song. The 3-minute synth riff is fab!

When's the next song due? Any chance for a Christmas song?

The improvements in production quality comes down to two things, I think:

1) A more sparse production with less going on.

2) Better sounding vocals due to investments in better gear

The next song is finished, it's only a matter of when to put it on the page. It will be very soon. Unfortunately this next song is overproduced in the extreme, unlike Jealousy. Pure 80's euro pop.

Anyway, thanks to everyone for the kind comments. Thankfully no one commented on the faulty compression.

Re: production: that is the trick, to know when less is more (or, more is more).

That faulty compression really spoiled it for me. That and the lack of ostentation.

I actually had to look up "ostentation".

I can assure you our next track is quite ostentatious. Not only does the lyric contain a quote of Mao quoting Nietsche, the music is shamelessly poppy with a distinct late 80's SAW sound.

Ah, but will it come replete with faulty compression?

That is entirely in the hands of Kasper the Friendly Producer.
