Aren't Duran Duran releasing a new single from their last album?

Because no one is interesting in them now.
They are in the past.

If they were in the past they would not be releasing any more cds. There are a dozen other bands out there that won't quit. They did release a single already for the song Falling Down. Its right here

There are some great mixes of Falling Down too - and the album is fab.

Because perhaps they've realised that the single is dead?

The only other decent song on the album is The Valley.That's one of the best songs they have had in a long time, and should have been the lead single from the album.

I'm all for the old groups carrying on and not knowing when to stop. Long may it continue.

yeah I thought that was harsh.honestly I think their new CD is very odd sounding,but I think of how much time when I was young I spend listening to that notorious CD.

and they were considered to be passe back then and who knew they would come up with those awesome songs come undone and ordinary world on the wedding CD.so nobody should write them off.

That is true, a lot of people I know say when are Pet Shop Boys going to stop or that they should have stopped a long time ago. So non fans will always think that of bands from the 80s.

I know there is Falling Down, but I think there are a couple of good other potential singles in the album, for example the tunes produced by Timbaland.

Yep, singles are dieing, but they do still exist, if I am not wrong.

You were speaking of singles? Well not many bands release more than three singles on a cd. Sometimes they just release two if we are lucky. I will only buy a single if there is a b-side or two. If its just remixes, then I won't buy it.

Duran Duran are like Gary Numan to me. Once took an active interest in all their releases but now have no idea what albums or singles are out.

This same question has been asked about a million times recently on Domino dancing sites too...
I personally hate the new album, despite being a Domino dancing fan since their inception. I went to the sole UK gig last year and spent more time in the bar during the time they played the entire Red Carpet Massacre album.

I think that the first single wasn't particularly thrilling and despite the obvious attempt to make the video popular by using naked women (oh, hello, Girls On Film) it tanked. So did the album. In fact, Donny Osmond's new album did better. (ouch)

A few months ago, there was speculation that Skin Divers would be the next single- Simon made a comment on a TV show somewhere- but this hasn't materialised. There was also theories that NightRunner would be a single, though yet again... no sign of it.

I think it's a little too late now really, but there are gigs coming up in the US and Europe, so maybe they will decide to co-incide a release with those.

Personally I think that whoever is in charge of their PR and management strategies should be out of a job. A monkey on crack could do a better job.

The album is actually worse than the previous one (Astronaut).Didn't bother going to their Dublin gig last December.Looks like I didn't miss much
