That is really sad.
I don't want to buy only albums.

I will always buy Pet Shop Boys singles!

mp3 is not quality, no paper, no case, no feelings, no smell, no design, no art, nothing.

It is the sad end of an era, but I for one honestly cannot remember when I last bought a non-psb single.

Same here. I'll always buy a PSB CD single but with any other track I love I'll download it - at 79p you can't go wrong.

I pretty much buy music from I-tunes now. I like having the option of deciding whether to buy the whole CD or just the single or certain songs.

unless its one of those few times where It-tunes does some underhanded evil tactic like making the one song I want "album only" .

seriously, they have to do away with that.

but in the end for me theres no nostalgia for "the single". its just one more thing who's time has come.

I have always loved singles, 7", 12" and CDs. I have a large collection, PSB and other artists.
I am sad, like discovering that I am not young any more.

I love collecting PSB singles ; the pride of my collection.

But PSB fandom would mostly favour CDs over d/loads.
So what will N+C strategy be ?
I like to think PSB CD singles will still be available thru the web site.
If anyone closer can put this question to them, I'd love to know.

The biggest problem most of people think it's not nessesary to buy CDs. becouse it's enough to have mp3.

No singles - No Pet Shop Boys, I am afraid.

I lookt at Se A Vide e or Being Boring CDs - they are part of my life, Farrow made me look at design different.
I can't imagine PSB without singles.

I guess what parkol meant was, psb's singles were an event by themselves, not for the song in isolation..but for the design, creativity etc, which almost made them pieces of art, worth collecting.

Its truly sad, but every now and then, I browse through catalogue and its amazing how they treated every release with a seriousness to their design and quality fundamentals. That would surely be missed, if the cd single format itself dies. It would be far to expensive to justify the cost of production, unless they do a very limited edition set, which would make them instant collectables ! anyway only time will tell...

I think someone must ask this question on the .com or literary and it would be interesting to see how they respond to this.

I never, ever buy a song in digital format if it has DRM or any other of those "copy preventions" used, which I also like to call listening preventions. I've read too many sad stories about the songs not playing any more after a few years.

If the whole album (on CD) is not good enough to please me, then I just listen to the songs on YouTube. All the new singles are there anyway. I never bought many CD singles anyway, but there reason was that they were not available anywhere easily. Pet Shop Boys are the only really contemporary act I've been a fan of, anyway.

I don't know how to say it in English, but you see only what you want to see.
You are very anger. Maybe because you have very big problems with women or potential.

Of course PSB are PSB, if you didn't understand me - I can't help you...

At least being British puts me in a far better position than you. The only way you can tell the difference between most Russian women and men is that the men spit further.

As for potential, thank god i'm not living a county thats stuck in the 80's
