I like the ad lib bit ("We don't have to fall apart... ") sung at the beginning.

It's funny, but sometimes a song is so well written it can still hold up, like a lot of jazz standards- they survive interpretations by inferior artists.

This is not the case here. I thought West End girls were cute at first; but now that they're clearly making a career of it, would it kill her to get the words right?

"How'm I going to get through" is interesting colloquial English in the original. LOADED with deep meaning, however- how shall I survive, (possibly) financially? It's the lament of the abandoned mistress, addresed to the rich man who's been keeping her.

"How I'm gonna.." is just sloppy and wrong, she strips all meaning from the lyric . It's not cute any more, these malapropisms. I understand the difference is subtle, difficult for the non-native speaker. But since WEGs whole career is built on PSB, you'd think they'd take some care with that.

I'm also sick of her bossy, unpleasant vocal style, without nuance or heart, just phonetically brayed through a device in this choppy robotic way. Neil writes lyrics of depth and emotion and subtlety, and this girl barks them through a walkie-talkie. Grating and tired. Not cute anymore. Time to get a real job, girls.

If you love PSB music, why do you keep hurting it?

Yes, Magnus Carlson is great. He's the singer in the band Weeping Willows. Check out their music on YouTube, highly recommended!

Nice to hear him sing a PSB tune. I don't know whether he's a fan. He mostly talks about Morrissey and Clash as his heroes...

Well, the jury has returned and decided it is a pile of w***. Interesting idea swapping the male and female roles, but she is starting to annoy me now. I think it was Deshanel who mentioned the errors in the lyrics. I noticed this too, and agree that it ruins it.

Just got back yesterday from a few days in Stockholm, and heard this on this radio over there!
The guy's voice sounds pretty good, but I really don't like the girls voices at all!

Well....I don't like the way the girl sings....not all singers can express emotions as well as Neil...
Oh!Frankly,I prefer the original..... I usually can't give an objective opinion,I'm in love with PSB music...but this time I think it's right. :)
