That weird psb proboards forum

What's the point of it being there, it gets little traffic from what I could tell, and from my perspective, it seems that zeus administrator is a complete dick. A lot of the posts are his and a lot make fun of this forum. Rather than a place to discuss PSB it comes across as zeus' pet project that he won't give up on for the principle of sticking it in this forums craw. Its also ugly. I just remembered it was there. Felt it was tacky. Thought I'd make a post of it.

Then why are you still there? thats the reason i didnt join up. it seemed more like a personal vendetta than a genuine reason to start a new forum.

A lot of my posts are stupid polls. Rather than discuss PSB i'd rather a job as zeus' pet gerbil. I'm small and furry and it would be great if he stuck me up his arse but I'm also ugly. When I approached Zeus about this he said he felt icky. Thought I'd make a post of it.
Fixed.

Just making an observation, didn't realize he had staunch defenders/lovers ready to back up his honour. And considering I don't post polls, and you haven't seen me, your wit was extra cutting. As the rules of Being Burned stipulate, I am now relegated to retreating to my corner, and I must never dare speak of that place again, and especially not voice my opinion of it. How I'd love to reword your post hilariously, but a one-word epic monstrosity as such is far out of my league. Well played sir, well played.

It was an interesting forum when it first started up after members left here. A lot of posters post a lot of interesting stuff. As for the silly bitching, that can happen anywhere. It's boring but anyone can and has been gulity of it.

The problem with Zeus' forum is it's probably run it's course. Maybe it will pick up again but sometimes, there are no posts, or very little posts for ages.

It's better than the asylum of a forum thats run by her thats a few cards short of a full deck.

There is no trollish behaviour on the Proboards forum and posters are generally able to debate and discuss without threads deteriorating into invective. It is quiet at times, but when the Pets are active so is the forum.

To the OP - if you don't like the Proboards forum then simply don't log into it in the first place. "What's the point of it being there?" Well, some of us like it, obviously. There is room for more than one PSB forum on the internet, you know.

Why, thank you.

I think that's because most of the members there - myself included - are people who have been on PSB message boards for years. As a result, when PSB are inactive it inevitably goes quiet because, let's face it, most PSB-related topics have been done to death and recycled constantly over the years.

Having said that, Kirk Mack recently produced a set of threads called 'Albums Revisited', in which we all listened to the back catalogue again and assessed each record, reminiscing about how we perceived them at the time and what we were doing. It produced a fantastic debate.

I still enjoy being here as well but to be honest, even though Community is - and will always be - the more active forum, there aren't many threads I find interesting here anymore.

There's another forum?

Well, curious soul that I am, I had a glance at the aforementioned site.

I guess it's more of a secret society, or school-tie-wearing back-slapping withered old boys' club, which would explain why people have such trouble finding it.

There appears to be around a staggering half a dozen active posters, all of them male except for their one honorary 'bitch' and a Balkan F2M sex-change that looks like it's ingested vast vats of Nandrolone to speed up the process.

Excepting two, erm, members I'm friendly with, it doesn't look like they post about much at all, except old albums and what personality disorder medication they're on. I guess that says it all really.

Summing up, and if I can oscillate wildly while I'm at it, there's only one thing worse than a little-known bandwidth-wasting forum, and that's a thread on another forum using up bandwidth talking about a little-known bandwidth-wasting forum.

To put it in perspective, the midget's handful of members over there obviously have more pressing things to be getting on with in their lives (therapy, for starters) and wouldn't be immature, insecure or cowardly enough to have a thread about a more popular forum over on theirs. They're too smart to do anything as crass as that. They are, aren't they?

Lol. You're funny, Loins.. please forgive our one Dynasty tussle, "what personality disorder medication they're on" is f***ing hilarious.
If you don't have anything nice to say, come sit next to me.

That said, Zeus was a strong personality, often rude, but with a point of view that made things interesting, made sparring and arguing worth it for the eventual point where we'd agree on things and "shake hands". It's very Libra of me , but he was a worthy opponent back in the day, and a vivid personality who sparked discussion. Even if it was just to tell him how wrong he was.

It's interesting, and a gamble, when you post on a place regularly, between being provocative and being insufferable. I realize I've probably been both. But sometimes it's theatre, personalities clashing. And it makes for interesting reading. Drico was enjoyably argumentative, with a strong point of view. ( I miss him.) Conflict is the root of drama, and in an odd way Zeus was doing his bit to shake things up. I realize he might have gone too far, don't know. I apologize for how boring my own political flames with a a certain pair here have been, too. That's done, and my, they seem silent since amazing Tuesday night. So over.

Never being boring is a virtue, but there are limits. Just musing aloud.

A round of applause for only achieving failure at your many attempts on taking on the world, Zeus, Thanos or whoever you wish to call yourself these days

Ah but Loins you are Zeus's nemesis so are therefore presenting a highly subjective perspective (which is good, of course). The only reason Zeus's forum exists is because he was asked not to post here anymore in case people were influenced by his forceful personality. I think this place is the worse for that, just as it is for any banned member (even those with nothing to say) but then I am somewhat of a libertarian. Hell, I even wish Satanas was still here because part of the appeal of a fan forum is coming into contact with a variety of different personalities, or even lifeforms. Cults tend to grow cultish and I would much prefer Zeus to be posting on the same forum as his detractors but I guess that just won't happen anytime soon. And I think the thread about this place is actually very funny and apart from the odd waspish barb, is more of a history of Zeus's forum than an attack on here.
