Your upper question is really a barefacedness for me. You know exactly what you did... you don't need to ask why!
But to make one thing clear! I'm not a mod here and so I don't need anything to do! I just would ask you (and some others) openly, if this all is alright in your eyes.. .
I also think most of the people here don't get how a ban is meant! They often tend to "...the admins don't want me over there anymore...!" WRONG! It's more like 'these people' don't have anything to contribute to the forum anymore, but insults and mockery about other members.

Don't you all get it???? This post isn't only for the user Nightlife!

Lads, lay off Drico. It's not like he's getting paid to moderate the forum. I wonder how many of those who criticise him would voluntarily give up hours of their time to do it with no thanks in return, just lots of grief.

I am not a native speaker but I can tell that (at least to me) Drico is one of the best posters in the forum, both opinion and writing wise, exactly expressing what he wants to say, and saying it very clearly. It is a pleasure to read his posts (not to mention that his English helps me)

This is begging for a ban in my eyes... and to have a reason to tell others outside here are all dictators!

Could we not take a bit of a breather here? When i first read Nighlife's post, i didn't know what he was on about (i blame the medication). However, it is a stupid, pointless thread with an unessasary, yet tongue in cheek pop at Drico. Theres no need for it, as the mods have a tough role as it is but threatening to ban him over it though is an over-reaction, surely? Maybe it is a banning offence, i don't know but you have a few members here who have slagged of members' parents, called them a paedophile in their signature and posted someones address in their sig. What they still doing here? Especially as they are still making these references in their posts, not more than posting a youtube clip about a ''typical scouser'' who was a thief, purely aimed at Danny C for posting something about Erasure in the Erasure thread.

At least Nightlife offers the forum something in most of his posts and he's not here constantly posting insulting and degrading remarks.

thats what I mean! This wasn't (only) meant as a single shoot against Nightlife! Yes okay, he was the example but this topic should stand for all slaggings!

And I only ask this as a casual member, not somone who tends to over-reactions! My question is WHY! Begging for ban, or what? And please don't understand my use of the word 'ban' in the way Lidia practiced. I'm far from doing or suggesting such with my posts! I simply can't understand why some people are bored here!
