So, Girls Aloud's latest single, straight after the PSB one, stalls at number 11 and becomes their first single not to go Top ten in the UK.

The Curse Continues........ 8)

If the imagined curse had any foundation in reality, surely it would have been the PSB-involving single, The Loving Kind, which would have failed to make the top 10?

Instead, that single has outsold half of GA's other releases.

There's enough negativity on here without attempting to associate PSB with someone else's perceived failure.

i don't actually believe in the legendary curse in any way, i was just making a lighthearted observation. The whole curse thing was never more than a joke anyway! Untouchable, being the number 11 smash that it is, would have been top ten for just a few 100 more units, but they still have had 20 consecutive top 20 singles, a feat only bettered by the beatles.
If this curse was true, i'd be pleading for the boys to work with coldplay, mariah carey and green day.

Presume this is from the beginning of their career?

Can You Forgive Her? to Minimal (ex Ab Fab) is 21 IIRC.

I'm waiting for York Minster and the Forth Bridge to be simultaneously attacked by terrorists.

How much did it miss out by? Someone on PJ forum said 3,000 copies, but that seems too big a gap between 10 and 11.

Not sure by how many but it still sold 20,000+ the week it got to number 11.
A few years ago, during a quiet week, those sales would have resulted in a top 3.

Incidentally, the same week as Untouchable made 11, Love etc's 13,000+ sales would have seen it barely scrape the lower top 20.

Untouchable was never the right single choice anyway in my opinion. Why on earth the record companies dont get fans to choose the singles is beyond me.

There is no curse - the public decides.

The idea of the video matched the song, but the musical-style of the song meant that the video was wasted on it. Shame.

Girls Aloud are still the best, though.

What? "The Loving Kind" has been one of GA's worst selling singles.

I have read somewhere (this forum? other forum? popjustice?) that it helped the album sales climb up more than expected due to huge radio play and for this reason it served its purpose well.

It was a terrible choice of single, an edit could only hurt it which it did.

Highlight of the live show though!
