Back!

Hi again all.
I am back from hospital after a new record stay of 15 days. Now starts the boring 7 to 8 weeks wait (that's as long as everything goes to plan) stuck in the house, on crutches with no left knee, until I go back in to have my leg put back together again. It's going to suck.
At least now things have got going after months of nothing happening, but it is still a painful thought that I can't expect to be back at work now until some time in late August or September.
Thanks for all the messages in the other thread.

At least it seems to be on the right track now... All the time in hospital at least makes me think they are taking you seriously. Let's hope you stay infection free and they get that new knee in sharpish.

Thanks Rob.
It is being dealt with now. Once they got me in it was always going to start the ball rolling properly, it was just persuading them to get me in that was the problem. Unfortunately, there is no way around the wait now before they get me back in again. There's time on antibiotics, time not on antibiotics, back in for a day to take a fluid sample from the area to check for infection, then if that is found to be clear (I'll be devastated if it isn't!) they can request the new metal prosthesis to be manufactured. That all adds up to 7 or 8 weeks.
Still, at least I've got past the first step, and it was a huge step.

No pics this time.

Still nightmares on the latest one.
Nice to have you back.

I could post a pic that I haven't got out of my phone yet! It's not that bad, and certainly better than the previous picture!
The worst thing this time around is the complete mess on both sides of my right elbow after having had a simple blood test needle stuck in it - it looks like I have been attacked with a huge mallet. The bruise is purple, red and brown and is an easy 10" x 4" in size. It's both disturbing and fascinating at the same time and I have no idea how or why it happened!
