I saw the original line up in Sydney in the 80s (I think, it's all a blur, I don't know)

I was a big Kraftwerk fan and I talked about half a dozen friends into going.
Then thought "what have I done ; they wont enjoy it".
Strangely, it was a lot of fun and all my friends liked the concert.

Honestly, I know artifice is central to pop art, but when you've only got one original classic member on the stage it's time to call it a day. If there's one thing I love about Pet Shop Boys, it's that there are only two of them and no chance that one could go on without the other under the brand name. It's all a bit Spinal Tap, really.

I like the idea of the MoMA residence though. Aren't Kraftwerk a bit like the Borg anyway? So long as there's one of them it doesn't really matter who else is there.

I've had that though as well, that it would be interesting with a pop band lasting "forever"! Just like other kinds of orchestras the name can live on by musicians continually going in and out of the band. When Ralf quits (or dies), the other current Kraftwerk members can bring a new "robot" in and so on... Maybe Kraftwerk will be the first group to do this?
