Car Stereo's and ipods

For all those car technicians out there, like Steve etc.
My cd player in the car hasn't got anywhere to plug an ipod. Is there some sort of device you know of that solves the problem?

The obvious and easiest answer is an FM transmitter, but the sound quality will not be as good as a proper iPod link to the head unit. Depends if you can put up with FM quality sound in the car or not.
Failing that it might be worth looking up whether or not you can buy an iPod interface for your particular stereo. Even older aftermarket head units often offer that option, replacing the plug in CD changer option of 5 or 10 years ago.

No probs on the advice.
Happy to say that my iPod has made it back into the car for the first time since the car was put away in April. I do enjoy having such a massive choice of music in the car, and I just have to have music on in the car!
Had a bit of a 'mare actually as I thought I'd swap all the CD sourced tracks on the iPod for the new 320kbps ones I made when re-MP3'ing my complete CD collection recently. Tried that and got to within three tracks of finishing when the iPod said it was full. I knew that couldn't be true as my iPod is 60Gb, I only have 40Gb of music on my hard drive and some of that isn't actually on the iPod. Couldn't fix it by deleting tracks, so had to assume it was an error and had to restore/wipe the iPod and start again. Funnily enough, on copying everything back over (very tedious) the iPod now shows it's only just over half full. God knows what was making it think it was full before. I think it must be a bit like Windows - the more you add and delete the less stable the system becomes until eventually you have to format and re-install from scratch.
