how to fix a glitch (repetition) in MP3?

Hello,
would anybody know if there is any software perhaps that would be capable of fixing the following problem:
I have a slow-paced track and at a certain point, as the vocal goes something like (beginning of the word)re, the recording actually does (beginning of the word)rerere... ie stuck on re (and everything, but as there is not much music at that point this is the only notable issue) for a very short while.
Can that be solved automatically (there are no significant "tempo beats" to figure out a correct tempo though), or is the only solution to edit / crop the problematic part manually? (Of course the best would be to get the original recording, but this is a kind of underground recording, it was not published properly, the choirmaster of the choir involved provided me a copy and I won't get in touch with him any time now.)
Thank you.
