iTunes experts - help please!

Not had cause to download iTunes to my new computer up until last night. I've installed a completely fresh copy of the latest Windows 64 bit version.

Problems:

I can't change the views - ie: I can't get to that nice look that looks like turning pages in a book of album art. The default view is the only one working and the buttons you click to change view seem greyed out. Menu view choices are also greyed out.

The biggest problem (it is either not working, or I can't remember how to turn it on) is not being able to get the box up in the bottom left hand corner to paste album art picture files into. There is a blank space where it was on my old machine.

Are my problems 64 bit related (I was running Windows 7 32 bit on my old machine) or am I just being really thick?

View of my iTunes as of a few minutes ago showing lack of file paste box in the bottom left corner, and seemingly greyed out view boxes top right next to the search field shown below

Thanks for any help offered! :)

I get the turning pages bit by clicking 'view' in the top left corner and selecting 'as cover flow'

The paste thing at the bottom left appears when you click a little black box in the bottom left corner. It has a tiny black triangle in the box.

I've just seen that you say your options are ''greyed out.'' you haven't got any parental controls on it have you? I've never known of that problem before.

Cool! That's one problem fixed - now just to work out why I can't access 'cover flow'... All the menu views are greyed out and unselectable, just as the view buttons top right
are unclickable...

Thanks Dave!

Have you got an iTunes Store account? I don't think you can see artwork unless you do.

I thought the 28 weeks later soundtrack was awesome. you should have got that one. that was some eerie eletronic music that totally matched the desolate vibe of the film

Yes, I have an iTunes account, although I've never spent a penny on it. I've logged in to it today in order to try to use the download album art option.

Glenn, the music you see in that pic is actually on my iPod, so I do have the soundtrack. Very good it is too!

Sussed it! The problem was that I hadn't added any music to the library. I was forgetting that in my old install of iTunes the different views were from the MP3's on my hard drive, not the contents of my iPod. Just added my entire music folder and now I can change views.

Thanks again for the first fix Dave! :)
