all my faves are flopping

Toxic outselling RBW 2:1 and the irony being toxic is penned by cathy dennis ! and the album's now scrapping the lower reaches of the top 75, so annoying ! even worse is PopArt flopping, when it should be selling a million copies atleast, instead of that dido and norah

Serves her right for making such a dud album. Being in the postion she is, she could have worked with anyone and done anything. Body Language and Red Blooded Woman are exactly as awful as their titles lead one to expect – and that is pretty awful.

they should revoke your poofter license for saying that!

Kylie is a goddess! ;)
Ok, so this album is rather crap (I do like Slow and Red blooded woman actually), but she's an absolute queen of camp.
So what if she stole the act from everyone...
she has put on way too much clothes for this album though...

and so Piglet becomes sexist.

Hmmm... I think it's time for me to get worried now... I agree with you way too often ...

Never understood what all the fuss was about with her. She was crap as actress and is still bad as popstar.

A career in porn may have been more suitable for her. All everybody ever talks about is her (lack of) clothes and her body anyway.

I'm quoting myself from a previous thread:

"Is it just me or is Kylie one of the most overrated pop stars ever? She if anyone has made a very little go very far. Her SAW-songs sound like all the SAW songs sound nowadays – totally unlistenable. Her "grown-up" period had one classic song (Confide In Me) but otherwise the album on the cover of which she looks like a rabid secretary was barbarically boring. She was even stupid enough to turn a perfectly okay PSB track into house mush and turn down contributions from Saint Etienne and Primal Scream. I can't comment on the so-called Impossible Princess album, because I never heard that – but neither did anyone else. Light Years was not only cheese but desperate cheese (Your Disco Needs You – Jesus Christ!) that for some insane reason sold a lot. Fever and Body Language had respectively brilliant and good lead-off singles but the rest of the albums were as generic and unimaginative as the titles suggested."

This was supposed to be 'oh so sad for kylie' thread, not to spew venom against the goddess herself

and please if she's in the business from 1988 and is considered an icon, she must be having something in her and lets not even get into a pointless discussion about her using her body, sex appeal or having no talent etc because thats all baloney. Unfortunately even a madonna, for all her brilliance will always be remembered more as the material girl and her SEX book...

But yes the only thing I would agree is that, there are enuf ppl to make mature, sleepy music and kylie should do what she is loved for, hardcore dance/pop ! Something which even PSB should explore

The two record shops in my high street have sold out of George Michael's new single.

It looks like he will go in higher than Kylie (well, that's not difficult - she's a midget after all  ), probably at No.4, which will be his best singles chart position since Outside.

I really like "Red Blooded Woman" and I LOOOOVE "Chocolate" from Body Language, which I agree is a so so album.

But Kylie is fab! Terribly inconsistent, but when she's good she's great! From the S/A/W period her "Enjoy Yourself" album is absolutely brilliant - best album SAW ever did. Several of the SAW singles are classics, most notably "Better The Devil You Know".

After the SAW period, "Confide In Me" rules and the "Light Years" album was very enjoyable.

Kylie has always been patchy - it can't be good all of the time!

May I say that while Kylie's disappointing you chartwise, I've been out-of-it til recently, and I really enjoy "Slow"- it took a while but it does grow on you. Love the basement Jaxx mix.

One thing I enjoy about San Fran is that a lot of the bars here play Euro music videos, like "Slow"- that and the gin and tonics might help my enjoyment of it!

(I've also seen 3 PSB videos in the past week in these places: I don't know what you want but I can't give it any more, Se a Vida E, and Paninaro 95, on huge screens, great sounds, and an appreciative audience. yay-fun~)
