After the overthrow of the Tunisian government a few weeks ago, and demonstrations
in many middle east countries, Hosni Mubarek has today resigned as Egypt's president.

Hopefully, more dictators will fall including in Libya, Syria and Iran. But why not
countries such as Saudi Arabia or Algeria as well.

It is interesting watching US neo-conservatives squirming. It has been their policy
to support many middle east dictators, including Mubarek, for decades. Yet how can
they be seen to be arguing against democracy and freedom ? They're trying at Fox.

No arguing about Turkey-Armenian history please.

your putting forth your world views from a paradise...like canada, your country really doesnt play the game like the US and Britain....we have to be a bit more realistic in the world, and its trial and error but I think we have no hopes for middle east muslims and most likely consider them too far gone. thats why Obama was confused as to what the correct policy should be on this.keep the devil we know and is agreeable to the US and britain, or possibly let in the devil's... plural who arent.

As usual you use essentialist rhetoric -your lack of education may prevent you from knowing what this means, it means producing an argument that reduces a person to their essential properties such as 'race' gender or religion- arguemts that usually lack logic, the first rule of any 'debate'. I usually tell my students to start with wikipedia when they need to begin to understand the historical context of the probelms that we face today and the sociological reasoning that attempts to explain them, like my students though you should treat wikipedia with caution given its 'democratic' editing format.

The shah was both a puppet and a prick. The americans and British were happy enough to deal with him for years. Khomeni was similarly a prick however if he were friendly towards imperialist intention then we would not think that as the imperiaist media would notb have told us so.
