Just discovered a nasty scratch on a record could be removed using some Brasso. Then rinsed with some deionised water now plays perfectly and you cannot tell where the nick was.

Surely the sound is still effected though? Or perhaps the area of sound effected is so small it isn't noticable?

We need a before and after video.

It's one of the mixes I recorded. I figured had nothing to lose... It was a very slight nick (doubt caused by me as hardly played, could feel it) and was not located where what looked like an actual scratch was.

It worked on this occasion. Brasso is great for scratches on plastics and removing sticky labels off plastic etc. I rubbed in the direction of the grain and rinsed with IONised water using a duster. Then I polished it with a record cloth.

This particular mix was the one I DID have on CD, the next track I didn't which was lucky.
I'm sure that I wouldn't normally do this kind of thing.
