What they got right - mp3 players, cordless phones, extensive use of computers amongst other things.

We are going to see some fantastic developments in our time.
Especially around the net, visual display and the intelligent home.
But one thing we will not see in our lifetime is artificial intelligence.
No robots, androids or such. It is just too hard to write the software.
There will be a robot that can emulate a human, but no AI will be able
think like a human, let alone debate philosophy.

I've watched alot of movies where they had their vision of the future, but the only movie that had one that I would like to have lived in was the one in minority reports.
it was just far enough that it had some amazing stuff, yet not so far I couldnt get the gist if I was dropped in that time.
