Wondering if anyone is up on this "genre" and if so, if they can recommend a couple albums that are good? It seems like this genre is a mashup of new wave synths and My Bloody Valentine shoegaze?

Probably one of the worst genre tags in recent memory (the word makes me literally cringe every time I read/hear it), but there are still some decent songs coming out of it:
Games - Shadows In Bloom, from the That We Can Play 12", worth looking up:

Slow Magic - Corvette Cassette, from the single ▲ (isn't that symbol effin precious?) (still worth looking up):

And the less we talk about the incredibly overrated group Purity Ring, the better.

First time I hear about this genre. I'm liking these suggestions.

Other bands to look up (that are fairly well known): Washed Out, Com Truise, Toro Y Moi, jj, Korallreven. There's a local band here in MSP, Elite Gymnastics, that's pretty interesting.

Oh! Police Academy 6 don't only have a great name, they also have a few good songs:

Going from youtube link to youtube link I found a band called Glasser. Don't know if that's Chillwave, but Mirrorage sounds ace.

I like Washed out. Didn't know they were chillwave...

Mirror Kisses seem to fit the genre as well.

As far a cool synthetic goodness with a touch of shoegaze goes I am loving the Chromatics new album produced by Johnny Jewel. He's very influence by Moroder – would be fantastic if he worked with the boys.
The Pallers album Sea of Memories is also a beautiful piece of melancholic synth pop.

I think it's petering out really. Aside from the usual suspects, Washed Out, Teen Daze and an act called Slow Motion and Casa Del Mirto, it's kind of rather knowing and retro.

I prefer The Field, who while not 'chillwave' have progressed the Kompakt sound without being retro.

The top one is taken from Flash In The Night, the excellent Italo tune by Secret Service.

I think Washed Out is the best of them all so far. And oddly I got a chillwave album just yesterday I'm liking by Teen Daze, and its a pretty good album:
