"Let us Go": T.S. Eliot...

"Let us go then, you and I,
When the evening is spread out
Against the sky... "

The real voice of the famous 20th Century poet, TS Eliot, sampled from an old recording made of him reading his poetry. The above lines, to many here, may need no introduction. But at the risk of telling you something you already know: they are the opening lines of Eliot's famous poem "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock". Commonly referred to as simply: "Prufrock".

Along with Eliot's "The Wasteland", many people are familiar with this (whether they like it or not), because it was often compulsory reading for many students in the senior school forms/grades/classes in the UK, Canada, and many other countries.

I sampled the opening lines, and "cleaned"/filtered/compressed" Eliot's voice to make it suitable for a techno/electronica sample.

Bound to infuriate some Eliot fanatics. But if you can't infuriate someone, you may not have done your "job" properly ;)

This original track of mine, uses no prefab beat-loops, and all of the music in the track is mine, which is somewhat classical in nature (to use the term loosely), is rather sad-sounding, with its backing string "pads". There are a few trance-like elements, and the beats are complex... although the mournful strings predominate.

Indeed. Busted!

Will address this when I return home later. No offence intended.

I can't seem to delete the actual thread. So with this reply of mine, I'll just let the thread get slowly buried. However, I thought I had put them all into one thread. So I genuinely apologize for this. No need to reply (for obvious reasons).
