Cover Me from the new album Spirit.

Pretty much stuck on repeat for me. Beautifully sung with a lush arrangement. Loving the Blade Runner-esque outro. Wow!

Wish there was more of this on the album. It's a decent album but this track is for me at least one of their finest moments.

Absolutely agree! Everything else on the album is shit but this is a top track!

It is a good track, I also like the first two, but depeche's recent albums are all sounding pretty similar. I don't have all their stuff, but their last really good album for me was songs of faith and devotion.

Yup - agree. The loss of Alan Wilder was massive I think for their overall sound. Never been the same since and there are only a couple of tracks per album after SOFAD that make the grade.

So far the final track ("Fail") is the best of the album. But "Going Backward", "Where's the Revolution" and "Cover Me" are great too. Somehow "Cover Me" reminds me Pet Shop Boys' sound. Quite surprising to hear such melodic and relaxed track after all those Hiller years of screaming & rasping experimental sound. Rest of the album is mixed material. Oh, and I absolutely hate "Scum" and "The Worst Crime".

I agree that they are sounding pretty similar now. I think Ultra had some good tracks on it though. It feels they don't do more energetic sounding tracks anymore if that makes any sense. The songwriting is still good but I just haven't been that into the production.

The last album I like from them had 'Precious' on it.....i liked Wrong from the next album, I think they are dead but won't lie down....dreary.

Totally agree with that - he was definitely a loss. Some Recoil stuff is decent, but not overly my cup of tea.

I like this song too, especially the outro. And the video is pretty cool too. The rest of the album didn't do much for me.
