Hey, does anyone else scuba dive????

never got around to getting a certificate, eventhough I did think about it once or twice when I was 'younger' (in my case, 10 or so years ago) But growing up at the Swedish west coast with some of the countrys best divespots and beaches just around the corner we used to spend most of the summers freediving

Wow!! That is great!
What is there? Shipwrecks?
Is the water warm or cold there?

Not many shipwrecks, on the eastcoast of Sweden on the other hand there is plenty of them, that the westcoast is more or less free of them is mainly because of the saltwater, anything not metal gets 'eaten' quickly by microorganisms etc. the bigger metalvessels are all situated quite far out from the coast. I think the water temperature is a bit like in Canada? on a good summer it can reach around 20 C.
The great thing is that for the most part the seabed is made out of sand and the water is in some places really clear (at least with Swedish standards) so that you can see the bottom from the surface at a depth of around 4, sometimes up to 10 meters hmm thinking of all this it makes me happy that I'll probably be moving back to Halmstad in a year or so.

I think the warmest temperature I have been diving in around here would be 15 degree's.
The colours underwater are basically green & brown. hahaha
I basically have been in Lake Erie, Lake Ontario, and in between (The Niagara River (above Niagara Falls)) and once I went to Tobermory and dove on a shipwreck that was over 80 years old in 90 feet of water, that was a thrill.

I have never been scuba diving in salt water, I heard once you do that you don't go back.

How far did you free dive??

I tried the 'Undersea' thing on holiday a few years back. It was one of those things where you put a HUGE box on your head and shoulders like a big telly with a view frame in front and breath through a tube attached to the boat up on the surface. I can't swim....so I tried to walk undersea and couldn't keep my balance. I was the total 'Wreck' under the sea, and S**T scared too !! A cockroach the size of my fist swam toward me....and I was Outta there fast. How DO you guys do it ? Good luck to you anyway.....but I'm a land person heart and soul !

Excuse me.....but my previous post on here....the word was actually 'CroakROACH'. If you see what I mean

Actually, because where I dive, there aren't any fish that would really attack me (Well, maybe a Muskie, but we have those fish as big as us swim by and I think they are more scared of us then we are of them) it isn't that bad. My biggest fear when diving is coming across a dead body.

A few years back, there was a newspaper article that they found a body of a deceased man that went missing from an old age home in the EXACT spot under a bridge caught up in some tree's that had settle under it.

The fish that we normally see (Bass, Perch, Carp, CatFish, Sunfish, Rock Bass, Walleye) are really cool, especially when they think you are going to turn over a rock and find them lunch (normally crayfish). They kind of act like pet dogs. hee hee
