Tom Stephan has just confirmed to me on Instagram that his remix of Party in the Blitz will be an extra track on the next single 'out soon'.

Great news! But what means 'out soon' in Pet Shop Boys' world?

Next week? Within two weeks?

On the next single? Disappointing news, if so, as it will be taking up valuable real estate for another b-side.

I like Party in the Blitz, but it's already been a b-side on the current single. Maybe they'll put it on an extra disc...

I'd speculate this Superchumbo remix will come on the remix package for that second single, instead of it being the b-side. But what is more disappointing to me is that there are probably no Loneliness remixes to be released, then, if the second single is coming soon already. That would make it only the second single in their carreer not to have any official remixes, I believe, after I Get Along. But heck, if they decided to not spend on remixers in order to finance the second music video, I'm all for it! The theater setting for it looks beautiful.

I was hoping we would get two more b sides for the next single but it may well be remix-heavy. Might just be the Bowie song.

At this stage, I'd be content with one more proper b-side. The alarm bells started to go off when Superchumbo popped up again "after many years." Maybe Neil saw him on an elevated train...

Would it be too much to ask for E-Smoove next time?

Tom worked with Pete back in December when the Boys were making final adjustments to the album/first single so not surprising to be honest.

So single release date...anyone care to guess?

April 19 for me.

You might be right. For Loneliness it was 2 weeks from "We made a video" Pet text to digital release...

If the songs with the new single are all the dudes live and the superchumbo remix, i would be disappointed, i just want to hear new stuff.

I am sure there will be at least one new song as a B-side on the next single.

I Get Along had a 7" Edit, a video extended edit and a live version. So three versions but no remix. Loneliness so far has only the radio edit.

When I heard the Blitz remix I immediately thought of Superchumbo... disappointed to find out I was right. Not a good remixer.
