I've been listening to some of the songs from Trevor Horn's albums of 80's remakes. Some tunes stand out:

Marc Almond's version of Love is a Battlefield is so beautiful. His voice is lovely.
Horn's own version of Take On Me reveales hidden sides of the tune. Take On Me is kind of a parallel to West End girls. Both had one-hit-wonder aspects but both bands managed to overcome that barrier and achieved longevity.

I find the recent album really odd. Rick Astley doing Owner of a Lonely Heart, it features Smells Like Teen Spirit, a track I despise, a really strange version of Relax... But I do agree, Love is a Battlefield is great. I don’t really know what to do with the whole album.

The albums have their ups and downs. Brothers in arms isn't as good as it could've been.
