Considering how great the PSB music is, I am surprised that there is so few officially released (and easily accessible) instrumental versions of their songs.

Even what does exist is hard to get. Yes was only on that vinyl set and Nonetheless was not even officially released at all.
We do have Elysium and Hotspot and others though.

I do realise I am not the only person who is here for the music It’s good enough to listen to on its own. I just think they could have released more of it but chose not to.

What do you think?
Should they have released more instrumental versions?

I’m hoping now they’re back on Parlophone, we will get 2xLP releases of the original albums coupled with the accompanying instrumental album. Just imagine Please and Actually instrumentals!!!

Instrumental albums have been discussed elsewhere and there is actually a lot out there:
Elysium, Hotspot - officially released
Electric - promo release leaked
Nonetheless - leaked this year
Fundamental - leaked years ago and I believe reposted somewhere this year
Yes - released on special issue but available elsewhere

So everything from Fundamental to Nonetheless except for Super is available.

An official instrumentals version of Nonetheless woudl have been welcome as I still often enjoy listening to the instrumentals of Elysium and Hotspot. I think they should do one every time.

Oh I've got a copy of Fundamental Instrumentals!!

Isn't it possible with modern tech to de-vocalise songs? I've seen examples of it on YouTube by fans uploading songs of their favourite groups so you can sing along to the instrumentals.

I'm fine without.
I do enjoy instrumentals, but I tend to listen to them only once or twice. Less than 5 times at most.
I just don't find myself wanting to go back and listen to Yes instrumental, Hotspot Special edition,
or the soundtracks like The Most Incredible Thing, Battleship Potemkin.
I've enjoyed listening to the leaks, Nonetheless, Fundamental, Electric. But it's not on heavy rotation for me.
I don't feel they needed to release Nonetheless in instrumental officially.

True, but how about alternative versions. Demos, rehearsals, outtakes, or mixes with backing vocals. Those seem more exciting to me.
I would listen to any of the albums re-released as instrumental and I'd enjoy it, but it's not the best thing they could put out. (Honestly, new music is better than any re-release in my opinion)

True. AI filtering is becoming quite good now that it's barely distinguishable from official instrumentals/acapellas. When I shared the Nonetheless instrumentals with a fan group they were nonplussed because unofficial filtered mixes were already in circulation.
De-vocalised songs are never perfect but it certainly takes the wind out the sails.

Yes, the instrumentals from fundy to nonetheless exist except for super.
One version of it's a sin, it could'nt happen here and dreaming of the queen exist too.

Now there's a lot of ai sites that can removes the vocal and it gives a pretty good result, not perfect but it's rather good.

Hmmm, I did not recall Dreaming Of The Queen being out in instrumental or being leaked. Young Offender was as was I Wouldn't Normally Do This King of Thing have leaked from Very.

I think hearing Very in instrumental format would be great.

It's not perfect. I used it for my Nirvana/Pet Shop Boys mashup and there's some slight distortion here and there. But by putting the other vocals over the music, these artefacts are kinda "blurred"

using the right options , you can get almost near perfect results on the songs.

the ultimate vocal remover has tons of options, you just have to play with them
to do it.

I've done this with every other PSB album, all DM albums, etc....pretty much all of my favorite bands and more. It's quite easy, the results are decent for the most part.

I found an instrumental version of Together on my computer but I can't remember it it's legit or AI-done.
