Greetings,

Which of the 55 singles featured on SMASH is the most forgettable... in the sense that sometimes you forget it was even released as a single at all?

I don't mean in the sense of being a weak song necessarily - just that when you think of the Pet Shop Boys canon, it's rarely foremost in your thinking.

Feel free to explain your reasoning, or respond below with another track, if your most forgettable single is not one of the ten listed here.

Winner! I'd like to forget it exists at all

Say it to me is one of their best single.
Memory is not that bad but i find the chorus a bit weak. Or maybe i was too impressed by everything means something, probably too dark to be a single.
I saw the Winner literally crossed out on the song list, given to a fan at the end of the super tour.

The HappySad remix of Winner was played at most Super tour dates, it sounded great.

Together- I don't dislike it but it's a very complicated structure to be a memorable single.

I could never forget that these were singles (but test me again in 20 years time when if still here I'll be nearly 80.) Subconsciously I'm referring to Memory of the Future maybe!

To be honest, the songs listed here are on the whole songs I like listening to (Say it to me is a BANGER). I guess I don't wanna is a bit of a weak finale to the compilation.

But if I could remove one song from Smash, it would be It doesn't often snow at Christmas... I really don't want a Christmas song in that playlist!

Say it to Me - not a bad song, in fact I don't think any of these are - but it's just a bit generic for me, to the point of being bland.

I think Twenty Something for me, but all listed here apart from Single-Bilingual and Somewhere qualify as far from favourites

True. It's a novelty record, in fact even more so than Ab-fab. All Over The World is a work of art, should've been on Smash. But we all know there's enough singles omitted from Smash for a 4th disc.

I don't wanna - gives you the wrong impression they were down the dumper the twilight years just doing self-parody. It's only true concerning this particular single. Will of the wisp had all the youthful energy you could ask for, kids could take notes.

Flamboyant hasn't aged well on the other hand, not a bad choice of a single back when but weak in comparison. The video was also a mess.

Together isn't "Singles" quality.

However, it has amazing remixes that elevate its status as a single, IMO!
