Annually spoilers

These are some bits from Annually which I thought were interesting:

If Jesus had a sister “was potentially down to be on the album originally”.

Everybody will dance was sent to Robbie Williams for his possible use.

Chris’s first choice for their Piano Room cover version was Ivor Novell’s My Dearest Dear.

Chris remixed the Delinquent version of All The Young Dudes. Neil prefers it “in some ways” to their original cover.

New London boy was considered as the first single from Nonetheless.

Adrenaline was nearly an extra track on Loneliness but they weren’t happy with the mix. James Ford mixed it again when they were working on All The Young Dudes.

They thought the Preston concert “looked fantastic on the television - a perfect film of the whole show”.

The Strictly medley was arranged by the show’s musical director Ian Masterson: he’s the Trouser Enthusiasts! There’s a studio version.

They are thinking of doing dinner plates and side plates to go with Gabby’s tea set.

Krysia, Neil’s teenage friend who originally ran the PSB Information Service and was Eric Watson’s partner, died last year.

Neil rehearsed performing the New London Boy rap over West End girls for Koko, but didn’t end up doing it.

They’d like Barbra Streisand to record The performance of my life.

Nellee Hooper nearly produced Bilingual.

This, of course, is the most important news here. 😂

Seriously though, some great nuggets there Dog.

RIP Krysia. I admit I had a bit of a teenage crush thanks to her photo from the OG Annually.

Wasn't Krysia also the girlfriend from 'Bet she's not your girlfriend'?

Aww. That's sad to hear about Krysia.

I have a handwritten note from her on the back of one of the original PSB Information Service sheets that they used to send out.

Great to hear N&C are referring to the tea set by its correct title. I might buy a copy just for this.

He can enjoy the final result without condoning the process.

Interesting to hear! I'd been thinking lately I'd love to hear a version of "New London boy" with the "West End girls" rap swapped in. Folding that emblem of Neil's success into his depiction of the young man dreaming about reaching those heights.
