Frankie Goes To Hollywood WTTPD 7 CD box set

The new Frankie Goes To Hollywood WTTPD 7 CD box set is released today. There are SO many versions of their songs on there! I'm just working my way through it. I wish this sort of box set is something the Pet Shop Boys would do for Please to celebrate the 40th next year. I mean...they were about as prolific with the remix / alternate versions as FGTH were.

I'm waiting for the bluray re-release and thinking of ordering the 7CD set for the immense wealth of extras. It's crazy.

Loving this release. Interesting that Frankie fans are as difficult to please as PSB fans.

Revisiting this thread. That 7 CD set was pretty exhausting! The sheer number or versions/remixes of the songs...I think it was all down to Trevor Horn. And to think that album came out in 1984 and bled into 1985 with all the songs / remixes. It makes you wonder if there are any remixes for songs off of Please that haven't made their way out into the hands of collectors. Whatever the case may be, I think we'll all be quite disappointed if we don't get something from the PSB in 2026.

Agreed, I got the 7CD set and the amount of content is amazing. Every single has its own journey from early conception to final "product" (I hate the word when talking about art). Plus the different versions a single got after its release.
I do miss some tracks. There was a longer version of The Ballad of 32 which could easily be put on this too.
The bluray is interesting too. I got the SDE edition with instrumentals and a stunning 30 minute mix of the title track. The sleeve notes by Steven Wilson describe a long process of going through all the tapes to find the right tracks. They couldn't find some so that's why Ronald Reagan can't be heard on the Atmos mix of War.

Does it have the 26 minute (something like that) of Warriors on? I've heard it talked about, does it exist?

You probably mean the CD single, which is 1 track but it has seperate tracks (like the 12 wild disciples mix, 7" mix, etc) stitched into one.
But no, Warriors is from Liverpool, their 2nd album.
