After selecting my least favorite b-sides I asked Gemini to use them to create my “nightmare” setlist.

🎤 Pet Shop Boys B-Side Set List

Main Set

* We're the Pet Shop Boys (The perfect, self-aware opening anthem)

* Get It Online (A driving, modern track to keep the energy up)

* A Cloud in a Box (A smoother, atmospheric track to transition the mood)

* Casting a Shadow (An emotional, mid-tempo song)

* Confidential (A dramatic, powerful pop track—originally written for Tina Turner)

* Screaming (A return to an energetic, slightly aggressive dance sound)

* The Sound of the Atom Splitting (A highly unusual, instrumental/ambient piece to create a powerful, theatrical break)

* What Keeps Mankind Alive? (A short, impactful Brecht/Weill cover, keeping the theatrical mood)

* Losing My Mind (The Sondheim cover, for a grand, show-stopping moment)

* Clean Air Hybrid Electric Bus (An optimistic, driving, and modern track for the main set finale)

Encore

* In Private (The duet/collaboration track with Elton John, a big singalong moment)

* We're the Pet Shop Boys (Reprise/Extended Mix) (Bringing back the opening theme for a celebratory send-off)

Prelude:
God willing

The way trough the woods
Postscript ( including a moment of silence in honor of...)
Your funny uncle
Casanova in hell
Hell
Indefinitive to leave remain
One way street
Dark end of the street
Dancing in the dark
Answer the phone
Where are you?
Numb
Dancing in the dusk
The night is the time to explore who you are
Sail away

Encore:
All or nothing (Miuyki Motegi cover)

Wasn't TSOTAS already played at a live concert (Performance maybe?), so technically it wouldn't qualify for Obscure.

Entitled “Obscure Pet Shop Boys”, and in contrast to the duo’s “Dreamworld: The Greatest Hits Live” tour, the new shows will see PSB perform a setlist featuring ONLY (my capitals) non-single album tracks and B‑sides from across their acclaimed career, with many songs being performed live for the first time.

I suppose they wouldn't play Numb then even in worst case sceanario. But a lot of gray area remains because of buzz singles/radio only promos, EP's. To step aside was a US-single and a hit on the Billboard charts still never included on any compliation album. How pedantric are these rules?

They've already played We're the Pet shop boys. Though it's not on Cubism they played it in Buenos Aires on the Fundamental tour. I was there.

'The sound of the atom splitting' was played during the interval of the 1989 tour.

Was it on the video? I never saw that tour so remembering TSOTAS being played can only have been from watching it on VHS back in the day....

I never saw the first tour either. From memory I believe it’s on the video. I seem to remember Chris saying in ‘Literally’ the book that the idea was to turn the venue into an acid house rave during the interval!

Metamorphosis surely has to be on there. The most cringey on the nose lyrics.

Bro? Monkey Business? Email? Give it a go? Schlager? Wedding?

There’s far cringier material out there.

Everyone was off stage, but the show kind of continued with the house lights raised a little.
