I like the hint towards a new outfit for the festival performance, and the little insight about vocal warm ups.
I do wonder if this line "There are singles we don't play because we have too many to play. So we've chosen the most important ones." is being said because of Go West now being excluded. Though obviously there are other singles that have been missing from the set since the start. Many of which they initially practiced and planned to include before deciding not to.

The question about continuing to tour in a decade's time. I like this question.
Neil seems sheepish yet honest with his response. Essentially saying Yes but not making any promises.
I honestly believe the two of them will continue to write, record, and perform until their health prevents them from doing so.

I also like this bit "We've always loved composing new music and preparing shows and concerts. We also have a great time composing music together. We've been through a lot together. It's been over 40 years, which is truly amazing. We still have the same creative energy, and that's what keeps us going."
His go-to example of why PSB are still going strong is that they love composing new music. One could interpret that as a hint that they've been composing new music in recent months. But it's nothing concrete.
Fingers crossed something will be announced in Annually 2026.

I could do without the negative political commentary at the end of the interview.

And what's this about wanting to fight against Trump. Like, Trump is a cool guy. He loves music, he loves his country, he wants to solve problems and make the world a better place. The venom towards him just comes across as bitter, jaded and unnecessary. I don't understand where it's coming from. I always thought of Neil Tennant as a gentle and well-meaning guy not someone to tear down others. I know songs like How Can You Expect To Be Taken Seriously and Ego Music are sort of catty but I tend to view them as ironic and more as statements of just verbally observing the pop scene and any apparent contradictions. Similar to how a magazine journalist would report. The Donald Trump commentary just seems questionable. A wonderful feeling? Hmm.

Anyway, I'm thankful to hear the performance will be broadcasted on TV. That'll surely mean those of us throughout the world will get to watch an on-demand recording of the broadcast including seeing the new coats or whatever they'll be wearing.

No one deserves it more than Trump. He’s vile and damaging. If ever he does become irrelevant, rather than just seemingly irrelevant for a few short hours of sport, music and pageantry, I for one will find that wonderful. It was a good feeling, as an outsider, to be reminded how much the USA is, and as has to offer, beyond the Trump noise.

Thanks for posting this, Cot3! Nice article. Looks like Neil's had second thoughts about the wisdom of making pronouncements about the global pop phenom of the moment!

Will be interesting to see which costumes get the chop for the next round of Dreamworld. Hasn't he mentioned not being so fond of the "mad scientist" white coat used for the first act? The comment about how long they'd continue touring is pretty fair - really, who knows what they'll be doing in ten years' time. My bet is Chris will be the one to call it.

Yeah so puzzling! Jesus Christ. I mean it’s one thing for these guys to admit they’re into a fascist, pedophile, rapist, culture-less, homophobic, racist egotist… but quite another to claim not to understand why other people, including a famously intelligent pop star who they also supposedly adore, might want to rally against the dangerous bell-end.
