Mark Picchiotti remix

Mark Picchiotti has made a social media post regarding his remixes of Se A Vida E.
He says people have been asking for his PSB remixes because they aren't available on digital platforms.

He's decided to distribute the files himself, free of charge. It's only available for a few days.

File list is:
Pet_Shop_Boys_Se a vida é (Mark Picchiotti's Deep And Dark Vocal).mp3 20.04mb 7:59
Pet_Shop_Boys_Se a vida é (Mark Picchiotti's Shelter Dub).mp3 21.70mb 8:40
PetShopBoys_Se_A_Vida_E_(Mark_Picchiotti Remixes)FRONT.jpg 789kb
PetShpBoys_Se_A_Vida_E_(Mark Picchiotti Remixes)BACK.jpg 585kb

So it's just the regular songs that we all have and have heard before.

What do you think of this?
To me it highlights the scarcity of these tracks that remain restricted to vinyl and CD releases.
I think it's nice to see a PSB collaborator mention their works and be proud of it.
Obviously generous to offer the files this way.
Mark is responding to and reading comments on the post, so it's an opportunity to engage with him.
Someone did ask for more PSB related material such as the 12" promo remix of this song.
There's a possibility of further digital files, perhaps of his other works separate from PSB.

What a nice thought ! As mentioned above, it just highlights that an official complete remastered set of all the remixes down the years is long overdue. Perhaps it's a rights issue with the individual remixers, however I assume PSB must own the copyright of these remixes (and be allowed to rerelease them) if they were originally included on the original record releases.. I'm no expert in these matters though...

Mark Picchiotti was in the the mix of producing for the Boys. Listen to his interview with Lenny Fontana, House stories, it’s on Spotify. It didn’t work out, but it’s a an interesting interview.

That's great !
I hope Mark Picchiotti will do the same and make his remix for "Go West" available next. It's not as good as the one for Se A Vida é, but I like it anyway. And it's very rare (test pressing promo only).

When you sit down and start to look at the sheer amount of PSB tracks/remixes that aren’t available digitally it’ll make you weep. There’s still a load of remixes that never even made it to cd for gawd sakes.

Greetings,

These remixes sound fine in terms of the music, but they're ruined by the repetitive "chop and paste" vocals that were lamentably the fashion at the time.

Retro. :)

These remixes can be found on CD2 of the CD single. I just put on that CD as SAVE is a skip song for me, and did not remember the remixes at all. My verdict: repetitive and boring, very 90s in the "dated" sense. Skip mixes of a skip song 😜
