Back to mine, is it worth to get?

Though maybe be pricey for 2 cds and has unheard bands. I need help to decide and for others too.

I got it yesterday. It's crap.

Chris's choice of songs are dated and dull.
Neil's are just boring.

I'm afraid I won't buy it.

Had it on my hands on a local music store but didn't feel any excitment on getting it.

If i ever get it, it will keep sealed as a mere completist item...

Not listened to mine yet. Just because there are very few modern tracks does not suggest that it's not worth having. After all, there are hardly any modern day tracks that I like (apart from those by Anastacia and James Blunt)

There are a few modern tracks on Neil's and about half a dozen of Chris' are fine, especially the Euro disco stuff.

Neil's CD is the strongest one, and not in the least boring. Maybe it isn't accessible to everyone but that's a question of having a rounded taste in music. Glad that Antasticia and Blunt weren't on there if this constitutes modern, although certianly it's mainstream.

The fact that there's much stuff unheard of has got to be a plus as it's pointless if you're familiar with most of the choices. What would be the point and fun in that? Now that would be tedious. If most of you on here had your way then it would be a 'Now that's what I call music' comp. and we wouldn't want that, would we?

No point buying it to keep it sealed. I know some people like collecting but I've always found this ridiculous.

To be fair to some of the more constructive comments, it would have made a really good single CD but there's a lot of gems on there...electronica/ambient, and some naff ones, some of the later tracks on Chris' CD.

It´s PSB´s release anyway. So yeah, buy it.

Agreed with the Freak...I always consider such things as a way of appreciation and support to Boys, both financially and morally. I ordered it the day it was released and hardly listened to at all (Internet radio offers wonderful things nowadays) but if I had known that it was the crappiest compilation I would buy it again. They have given me so much pure joy and happiness that if Neil starred in a hardcore porn, playing an aging singer of inferior class night clubs I would buy it, too.

Actually that's what I am doing since I heard Nightlife and NYB...only collecting without expecting much....except maybe popart and it is not an essential thing for me who adores pre-Very Boys. So whether it is BTM, Potemking project or Release, I buy it and I think everyone who considers himself a serious fan should do so (Of course I am not talking about acting like a crazy in a nutshell, that is to say, buying 16 copies of Release )

By the way, the compilation flows very nice; and everything aside, there is Queen's Show Must Go On, which nicely justifies admission price on its own.

Some day, I will get it. I have more cd i want to get from Dusty springfield.

So why not stop? You're actually buying PSB releases with an initial belief that you won't like what you'll hear!?

Do you have a problem with people collecting PSB items as a hobby?

Back To Mine is pretty decent really. I may be in the minority here but I actually prefer Neil's CD to Chris'.

The latter is OK but for me it's a bit short - I'd have liked him to throw in a couple of obscure 90s dance tracks and maybe some modern-day underground stuff as well. Nice to finally own PASSION by The Flirts, though, and the gospel track is really good.

Neil's CD is fantastic to chill out to. Two weeks in a row I've listened to it on the way home from semi-drunken nights out in London and it works really well in that capacity. Some of the classical pieces are really haunting, my favourite being 'Come In!' by Ensemble Opus Posth, and the Etienne Daho, Dusty Springfield, Craig Armstrong and Video Kid tracks stand out too.

Can't you read well? I said "not expecting much"- I don't know if you lived through pre-Very days but almost every PSB item released then made your skin buzz and tingle-they always hit the bull's eye- whether it was an album or a single or a cover- but since Very it has been always hit and miss- and recently it is always and terribly miss -except for Miracles and Flamboyant -which surely came as something fresh and reviving after the horrible Release and turgid Nightlife but weren't masterpieces surely- I know that they will never release anything again like Actually or Introspective but I don't blame them, too. and I know that even the worst PSB item will have certainly some gems. I have to feel content with them So why should I stop? And they helped me surf through my teenage years very nicely so I owe them much. They release something, I buy. I give a listen. Like or don't like. It doesn't matter much after all this time. They were great. They will always be great. But I don't think they are putting their heart in no more.

And I strongly believe that almost three-fourth of worldwide sales of PSB are still due to hardcore fans who are still fans on the strength of albums up to Very.

No Zeus, I just can't see the point of it no matter how hard I try. Maybe because of different point of views. But please tell me one thing: Are they all different versions? I am talking about the content, not the packaging or pictures or format...Are there any different versions of Release except the regular one and limited US edition?
