Contrary to our earlier report, September 5 looks to stand as the release date of the "Battleship Potemkin" CD. Artwork is not quite finished and a sample permission is outstanding but EMI, releasing the CD as a joint venture between EMI Classics and Parlophone, are confident of maintaining the release date for the UK and Europe. Japan will follow slightly later. There is no USA release date at the moment.

So September 5 again.

In Germany the concerts would have been too early. From the promotional point of view, it's very important to release it at the same time ...

OK, I better should've said 'for
me it doesn't really matter'.

That could mean no single then, considering there is only 5 weeks to go for the original date set for No Time For Tears.

Not necessarily. NTFF could still come out Aug 29. But it does seem odd that there's been no " official " mention of a single so maybe that has fallen through. It is a conundrum ..

If this is NOT true, why do two different websites mention this catalogue number seperately?

releases are allocated numbers in anticipation of being released, the issuing of catalogue number is no guarantee a single will come out although chances are it will. I think the London DVD single was allocated a number for instance. That vibrantsound website states that the single was produced by Trevor Horn, wonder if he has got involved ?

Maybe it means that there could be a single version produced by Trevor Horn. That site also states that the CD2 is enhanced.

The new pet shop boys single "NO TIME FOR TEARS" has now been withdrawn from the sale schedule due to record company wanting the POTEMKIM soundtrack album to be released as a

Also the original promo got withdrawn because for some bizarre reason management didn't want it to come under 'Pet Shop Boys' so it's been changed to 'Neil Tenant: Battleship Potemkim' which surely must piss Chris off.

I think that 2nd comment is a load of rubbish to be honest!!

Indeed, London was given a catalogue no.

The Promo CDs were labelled CDRDJ6589 and CDRDJX6589

And dont forget way way back the Pic Disc of West End girls was assigned a cat no : RPD6115 but no one seems to have seen a copy!!

Also, I vaguely remember How Can You Expect To Be Taken Seriously? was also assigned the **R6283 cat no before it got changed to Jealousyand then of course, Streets/Seriously came out with the **R6285 number.

And about the 1st comment, if EMI wants Potemkin to be released as a "minor side project", why are they making an effort to keep the original release date?
