Rumours abound with the eagerly awaited arrival of the new Robbie Williams album due out this October called Intensive Care.

My spies reveal that while the singer and budding songwriter may no longer have the talented Guy Chambers at the helm, he is planning to work with many producers/writers in his quest to produce the best album he has ever made.

This explains the secret recording sessions with 80s duo The Pet Shop Boys, who gave Robbie a massive number one hit in Europe with the haunting balled No Regrets.

Robbie told my mole: "I love them because they are so creative. I am so excited about just what will emerge from the studio."

"Secret recording sessions"?!!??

Sounds brilliant, BUT I don't know how credible a source who credits PSB with writing No Regrets is. It was, of course, written by Robbie and Guy Chambers.

If this is true, it's brilliant news. But, just like BlueSwan, I have my doubts for exactly the same reasons as he mentioned. And, to add another point to make it even more doubtful: aren't PSB supposed to be working on their own album?

One PSB-produced/written Robbie Williams song would already be great.

Of course, this could explain the 4 year space between "Release" and the upcoming studio album.

I see no connection between PSB side projects and the release of their regular studio albums. For instance: there's 3 years between Very and Bilingual and also between Bilingual and Nightlife. They did have their activities during these intervals, but they've been WAY more busy during the intervals between Nightlife-Release and Release- forthcoming album.

After Nightlife, they did a tour, a musical and produced some remixes. After Release, they did a tour, another album featuring 5 new songs, a compilation album featuring 2 new songs (and 3 b-sides), remixes for Yoko Ono, Atomizer, Kiki Kokova, Rammstein, a track with Pete Burns *and* a full soundtrack for a movie!

In other words: PSB have been incredibly productive since 1999. So I really don't mind about the 4 years interval between their 2 regular studio albums.

I don't think they ever fell out. Having read Chris Heath's 'Feel', the book that follows Robbie around for a couple of years, Robbie has been keen to work with PSB for some time (he wants to do an electronic-sounding album at some point) and had made plans to contact them a couple of years ago - but then started working with Stephen Duffy, who I assume is still his major co-writer.

After the release of Actually, Pet Shop Boys produced a mini-album with 3 new tracks (Introspective) and several B-sides. They toured for the first time, produced/wrote a full album for Liza Minnelli and produced/wrote 5 songs for Dusty Springfield. After that, they came up with Behaviour; their best album so far

After reading stephen duffys blog , http://www.thelilactime.com/ he gives the impression that he and robbie have produced and mixed the album themselves with songs they have wrote together since 2001.

But stranger things have happened

The sound of the new RW album is reggae music, so a future PSB collaboration on this album sounds strange. One question: How credible is Neil Sean?, I don't know.

Neil Sean is not credible at all. He is the biggest bull shitter around.
