yes think the same! But I don't think this project have the same priority as 'Dusty' or 'Liza' once had.
Guess they only will produce/write one or two tracks for Robbies next album/incl. B-sides.

Writing new songs for Robbie and new material for their own album.....CRIKEY it sounds like the creativity is flowing......which is great . I'm not a big Robbie fan but I'd be interested in anything PSB do for him.....and curious.

The fact that MTV picked up this rumour doesn't necessarily make the news more reliable. At may as well be yet another typical example of a lazy journalist, searching the web for music news.

I really don't see why this is a source of interest instead of one of dread. They could collaborate with Franz Ferdinand, The Killers and any number of new hyped bands (except they don't do bands) and it wouldn't make the slightest difference to their standing.

I hope they aren't working with Robbie. That would be good news. They've had enough career embarassments. Robbie is still a fat dancer from Take That, he's still a mardy arse attention seeker, and not exactley the epitomy of wit or sound lyricism.

btw, just because rumours have been on Sky or MTV do not constitue authenticity. Sky mostly get things wrong, what do you expect from Murdoch? And MTV, well they're just rubbish, aren't they?

Have to disagree with this - although if you mean that it wouldn't make any difference to sales then I do agree. At this stage of their career I'm not sure they worry too much about that though.

Whether you like him or not Robbie is one of the biggest stars out there - working with him would hardly be an embarassment. I would think that it would make a difference to PSB as well. People who purchase Robbie's music are more likely to go out and buy PSB than those who listen to FF for example.

Not entirely sure Mr Murdoch controls the output of Sky's entertainment news and to say that they get most things wrong is something of a sweeping statement!

Very true about MTV however - can't stand it!

Mr Murdoch does have a significant influence on Sky news, it's fair to say. It's debateable to what extent, but short of writing a long essay with examples and quotes you're going to have to take my word for it on this issue. It's safe to say that he had no input on this Robbie rumour though

Sky news isn't the best example of the news media in Britain and although I accept it doesn't get most things wrong, it has made many errors of judgment which in my view doesn't constitute a fine example of television news media.

Robbie, is indeed a 'star' as you put it, which is where his status begins and ends. PSB pride themselves on their music, and although I thik Neil would enjoy star status to some extent, and Robbie's influence may be harmless, I doubt fans of Robbie would check out the Boys catalogue. They may be more likely, but this is thin speculation.

From what I gather his album is nearing release and there's been no mention of the Boys collaboration. Wishful thinking, perhaps?

Sky is recognised, however, as the best source of breaking news in the UK. The BBC, for example, are generally slower on the uptake, but better at the post-mortem, so to speak.

Working with one of the biggest music stars of the moment can only be a good thing for the Pet Shop Boys.

Robbie is an extremely popular mainstream pop icon. Whether you like him or not is completely irrelevant and does not matter. I dont like him much either, but so what? EMI did not give him an £80million advance for fun, but because he sells millions of albums.

In terms of having somone to showcase their material, they could not ask for a better collaboration.

He will essentially be fronting a Tennant/Lowe composition, and bringing the Pet Shop Boys music to a far greater audience than they would achieve alone, or with any of the other acts you mention.

How this is possibly a bad thing is completely lost on me. What, its bad because you don't like Robbie? How ridiculous.

Robbie's new album is called Intensive Care and will be released later this fall. This means that it must be finished, so if it has anything involving Neil and Chris, those tracks have already been written and recorded.

I dunno why but I think it is not true. May be done to cause some hype dunno but I don't think when it's released Neil or Chris will appear in the credits.

For PSB is a REALLY good thing a collaboration between Robbien and them. It doesn't matter what people can say.
