These days I have been listening the album of Tina Turner, Wildest Dreams. It's a funny to do that because on it you can hear people like Antonio Banderas (singing in Spanish), Sting, the 50% of U2's composition "Goldeneye" (soundtrack of the James Bond movie). But overall, of course, the Pet Shop Boys (Neil like backing vocal of their own song) and then, the production in some songs of Trevor Horn.

I love one song in particular which one was a single called "Whatever you want", a typical expression of a Horn's production. Probably, any song of the new PSB album could be a little bit similar.

I cannot stand bloody Tina Turner. What a God-awful woman she is.

Someone please move this off-topic. Or even better - lock it.

It's a nice album. I lOVE the Psb demo of "Confidential". Tinas version gets a bit bit annoying towards the end when she starts yelling. Shame on such a good song. It would be intresting to hear a dance remix of it...I think it could work as an anthem á la "Red letter day"

It's worth getting for 'Whatever you want' and 'Confidential'. I do agree that Tina is a bit crap, but hats off to her for working with the Pets.

I love the end of the songs with her yelling.

It's simply confidential.

Tina Turner is ghastly, although I do give her credit for knowing when to retire. In that tight rubbery red dress her stage and singing manner resembled somebody suffering from a chronic and near-fatal constipation.

And Confidential was just a lame retread of the previous Dusty ballads.

But I'm sure she hasn't really retired yet...She's been saying that for ages but as soon as her pockets are getting empty she's back with a new album...

Well, she did say that she would retire when she turned fifty - and she did just that. Which of course doesn't mean that she couldn't come back, but so far she has admirably resisted the temptation.

I haven't listened to it in ages, but I did this afternoon.
And it's really rather relevant now, isn't it ?

It has a Tennant / Lowe song on it & most of it was produced by Trevor Horn.

I've been listening to Tina all my life - with Ike & without, so I can say this is a career highwater mark.

And my copy has a " hidden " Track 14 ?!??

I´ve never bought that album although I have been thinking about buying it. I have Confidential anyway.
Btw. I bought Essential recently. Someone was happy about having some PSB´s cd that I don´t have. Now I have it.

Tina's version of "Unfinished Sympathy" p*sses all over the original track by Massive Attack. It's just the difference between having a voice or not.

Well, I'm sorry, but that is just about the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.

Shara Nelson has an amazing voice, which is why she was selected as the vocalist, and lest we forget - Massive Attack wrote the bloody song.

For Tina to 'do kareoke' over the music is hardly the same thing.

I must agree with jamie here. Tina may have a voice, but her only mode of expression is belting, really, and as with many other songs, she just doesn't seem to understand or even care what Unfinished Sympathy is really about. Besides, I think Shara has a far better and more expressive voice.
