do people think the boys are in the right position to launch a new album? what i mean is - coming off the back (ish) of Flamboyant, Miracles and Potemkin. Is it the right or wrong time to make a comeback?
My personal opinion is that it is the perfect time. I've got a lot of mates who loved Flamboyant, but didn't buy popart beacause they wanted to wait for the new album - Potemkin generated a little attention and it was well received by critics (aside from BBC). It's also been a while since a new album from them, and if it is an electro album, it will be fitting with current music trends ie. Goldfrapp, Basement Jaxx etc.
Interesting to know what others think on it?

There's never a wrong or right time for a band as ancient as PSB. It all depends on the quality of the record and what proportion of their cult following and potential/occasional buyers will like it enough to go and buy it. They were clever enough not to ruin their chances of some hype for their comeback album by not releasing the BP under PSB/promote is as PSB album so, whatever...

They aren't fans of the majority of PSB's back catologue.

I don't think this is a comeback - they have always taken their time for the albums, and done a lot of side projects. I don't think PopArt, Flamboyant, Miracles, Potemkin or Disco 3 make a lot of difference either way - as an established band, PSB will get a lot of publicity when they bring out the singles and the album, and in the end the quality will decide whether or not they will be succesful.
As for fitting in with the trend, I don't think they ever really did (except in picking up and coming remixers), and the success of their album is unlikely to be influenced by whether or not they sound like "Goldfrapp or Basement Jaxx". PSB are potentially a bigger band than that.
