Ive not seen it adverstised anywhere, so I am presuming that Battleship Potemkin will NOT be available on vinyl anywhere.

Is this therefore the first PSB album not to be issued on this format?

Strictly speaking, it's not a PSB release. Also remember that the vinyl editions are mainly for the DJ market.

I'm disappointed that it's only going to be released as a standard cd, would have loved a vinyl or cd/dvd. It would seem that EMI have persuaded them to give it a low key release.

Maybe because EMI Classics is involved. New classical stuff is only released on CDs these days, there are only a handful of vinyl reissues of very important recordings.

How would they able to fit 73 minutes of continuous music on vinyl?

Does anyone know if the film is going to be released on Beta tape? I don't see why it should only be released on DVD.

Slightly odd comment for you to make as aren't you the one who buys everything they release on every format going and then after emptying your wallet HAVE to criticise it??

That wasn't criticism on PSB's format release tactics, I have never criticised that and enjoy buying every format.

If someone wants the O.S.T on a format that has been dead for ages then I'm allowed to want the film on Beta tape, I don't see what's the harm in that?

I have read somewhere, and I'll try and find it, that sales in Vinyl had increased over the last x amount of years.

My Question was a straight forward one. Each PSB album has been available to buy on wax. I know this isnt a strictly PSB release. It just would have been nice to add to the collection.

I do have a copy of the CD but I've never actually played it.

Disco 2 wasn't a continuous mix of original music for a film, it was a mix of existing mixes which could be edited for an LP release, not the same thing.

My question was also a straight-forword one i.e is there going to be a Beta tape release.

The actual film and unedited release are both 73 minutes.

As if you really want a beta tape!! Vinyl figures have indeed risen, especially the 7" format which is doing really well at the moment.

Though, I agree, what is the point of a vinyl release?

I cant exactly see this one lighting up the DJ/club scene.
