Chris did an interview for the latest issue of 'Play' magazine. Chris himself decided to do an interview for a Russian magazine and chose Play.

He was asked about Potemkin a lot, why they wrote the soundtrack to it, nothing new was said really.

Chris said that:
they wrote the soundtrack for Potemkin watching its DVD, in real time, looking at the screen;
they hope to do Potemkin in St.Petersburg soon, the event has to be free, they are looking for sponsors now;
what Chris likes most about Russia are relationships between people, sincere communication, fun, caviar&vodka;
the decision to take part in Live 8 was spontaneous: somebody came up to them at Elton John's party and invited to perform on Red Square;
their new album will be out next year in spring, it will be in the style of It's a Sin, disco-dance, uplifting-euphoric-bombastic;
Chris likes modern rock music like Libertines, Killers, Kaiser Chiefs;
he still loves dance music, for example, Vitalic;
Chris is going to Ibiza this year again, he loves open air events there most;
Chris went to see ballet twice this week, he and Neil often go to galleries in London and other cultural events;
Chris has a glass ceiling in his house, he was lying under it while doing the interview on the phone and looking at the rain.

The new Vitalic album is great - Chris has impeccable taste.

I just wonder how the new album is going to sound. They have mentioned on a couple of occasions thats its going to be like 'Its a Sin'. Neil is quoted as saying he wants people to "hear it and think 'that is SO Pet Shop Boys' - people havent said that for a long time".

But is trying to re-create past tracks the way forward? Only time will tell....

yeah, OK Cowboy is the most recent (released earlier this year)

I'd go for:

"Quite Pet Shop Boys"

or

"Most Pet Shop Boys".

Maybe even "Very 2" would be good.

I don't like any of those suggestions. They have done the whole useless pun title thing to death. I'd go for a word that sounds cool, like Violator or Exciter do.

Maybe another reason why BP was released under the T/L guise, otherwise it would have been a PSB album with two words as the title

I think the Release era was an attempt of being un-PSB as possible for a while in everything. See they didn't even use Farrow for artwork...so this time I guess they'll be as classic as they can, including old puns. Sometimes mannerism can be nice.

But 'Pet Shop Boys Release' was a pun i.e 'Can I have the new PSB album Release'

I think they may call it 'Epic', actually.

"Epic" is quite nice!

What about "Typical"?
