I think Pet Shop Boys would be less famous than now

That means that PSB would have got Chris Lowe in to help them with "Release" and it could have been a lot better....

I just didn't know Bernard is the same name as Barney. There aren't many Barneys in Barcelona, you know?

Bernard Sumner used to be known as Barney Albrecht, for some reason.

Yeah - was it something to do with his mother/father? I'm sure someone will know, I can't remember.

The only other Barney that I've ever known was my friend's dog, so it isn't a popular nickname even in Engand. Oh yeah, and Barney Rubble from the Flintstones.

And Bernard is one of those old names that has fallen out of fashion - you wouldn't meet many Bernards under the age of 50 now. Strangely, though, I've always thought that it suits Mr. Sumner.
